*Djokovic 3-1 Nishikori
It's relentless from Novak Djokovic. He pounds away and eventually Kei Nishikori falters.
The former world number one gets the first break.
Federer 3-1 Anderson*
Kevin Anderson adjusts his baseball cap in anticipation of facing the Roger Federer serve in some early afternoon Wimbledon sun.
The top seed whips a forehand winner beyond his opponent, but then flops a rare short ball just long.
Federer closes in on the net again and makes no mistake with a thumping overhead smash, before sizzling down an ace to hold.
Djokovic 2-1 Nishikori*
It's Kei Nishikori's turn now to serve while looking into the sun. One man without any such issues is Rory McIlroy in the Royal Box who is looking very dapper in sunglasses. Dame Maggie Smith is up there too. Legend.
The whole of the court, the Royal Box included, are now ooooooohing and ahhhhhing for the first time. Novak slides around on the grass to come out on top of a brilliant rally. He gives it the big fist pump.
Two break points to Djokovic.

Down below me is a girl waving a red and white scarf which says ‘Welcome back’.
I’m presuming she hasn’t had that specially made to welcome Federer back to Court One after his three-year absence...
*Federer 2-1 Anderson
John Lloyd
Former GB Davis Cup captain
I wasn't surprised by the coaching change from Kevin Anderson. He changed after probably his most successful year so something must have happened. But he has a great successful coach now who is very well respected. They have left nothing unturned.
*Federer 2-1 Anderson
Roger Federer hammers a return back at Kevin Anderson's feet and the eighth seed flat-bats it along the turf like he's playing French cricket.
The South African gets his eye in, and gets on the board for the first time.
Djokovic 2-1 Nishikori*
The sun seems to be causing Novak Djokovic a problem as he serves from the 'Camera End' of the court on Centre. It's right in his eyes as he throws the ball up in the air.
He holds serve comfortably but the Serb is still wiping his eyes with his towel as he heads to his chair.
Federer 2-0 Anderson*
His serving's on-point, too... Federer dishes one up out wide and Anderson struggles to reach it.
Now the Court One crowd are being treated to a masterclass of exquisite Fed strokes - slices, drop shots, perfectly weighted baseline efforts.
He holds to love.
Djokovic 1-1 Nishikori*
Good start from Nishikori on serve meanwhile on Centre. He holds comfortably against Novak Djokovic.
A lot more of that will be needed if he is to change this stat...
Federer* 1-0 Anderson
John Lloyd
Former GB Davis Cup captain
You have to give it to Roger Federer. There is a reason he has won 20 majors. He can adapt to anybody and any situation. I thought Kevin Anderson would have a chance at the beginning because of the court but Roger just picked out that serve like it was the easiest thing in the world.

If Anderson’s biggest weapon is his serve then he’s in trouble.
Federer batted everything back to rack up those three break points, although a 130mph serve from the South African briefly gave him some respite.
“That was match point right there,” quips one member of the press behind me.
*Federer 1-0 Anderson
Cracker down the T from Kevin Anderson to save the first, but the South African lashes a backhand wide and Roger Federer breaks in the opening game of the quarter-final.
What a start for the Swiss.
Djokovic 1-0 Nishikori*
Pat Cash
Former Wimbledon champion
Nothing fires-up a champ like writing them off. Will Djokovic get back to his best? Probably not.
When he won those four majors it was arguably best tennis year in history. We’ve done this with Nadal and Federer and look what happened.
Federer 0-0 Anderson*
Electric start from Roger Federer, he's in no mood for messing around despite the unfamiliar surroundings, racing to a 0-40 lead.
Three break points for the top seed.
Djokovic 1-0 Nishikori*
You wouldn't be surprised if this match on Centre Court takes a while. They're both baseline players who love to rally. Djokovic gets into a 40-0 lead before Nishikori makes him sweat, fighting back to 40-30.
Novak bangs down an ace to hold.
Federer 0-0 Anderson*
Right then, time to get going on Court One.
And it's the big-serving Kevin Anderson who will get this quarter-final under way.

Not as many Fed Heads here on Court One as there would be on Centre.
I’d imagine they all lumped on Centre in the ballot in the expectation of Roger playing there on quarter-finals day.
There is a pocket of Swiss fans on the bottom tier of the stand opposite the chair umpire, suspect they ran down to the Queue when the order of play was announced yesterday.
*Djokovic 0-0 Niskikori
Tim Henman
Former British number one on BBC TV
It is a step up against Nishikori, but technically and physically Djokovic looks good. His serving motion is more sound, movement at back of court good as ever.
The question is whether the mental side will detract from his performance.
Federer v Anderson
When you can't choose who to support...
*Djokovic 0-0 Nishikori
Speaking of injuries, Kei Nishikori has some strapping on his right elbow.
Anyway, Novak Djokovic will serve first in this Wimbledon quarter-final.
Play.
