No-one wants to hold their serve. Djokovic breaks, Cecchinato breaks so the run means Djokovic breaks again.

The first sign of frustration from Cecchinato who launches his racquet down the court in anger after a mistake let his opponent off the hook.

Cecchinato had chances to win that game so the frustration is understandable, but probably a good sight for Djokovic to see.

Cecchinato saved two break points but is back in trouble shortly afterwards.

Well, that advantage did not last long.

Djokovic breaks Cecchinato's serve in game one, then loses his own service game in game two. A few costly backhand errors and we are right back on serve.

Well, we said Novak Djokovic would have to do it the hard way. He has made a good start by breaking Cecchinato's serve at the first time of asking right at the start of set number three.

Into set three of what has been an absorbing and top-quality encounter. Fortunately we have not seen Djokovic need any more physio since the early stages of that second set.

Lets hope this match does not end any earlier than it has to. Top class stuff for the Court Suzanne-Lenglen crowd to enjoy today.

He had to save three set points in that second set, but shows great skill to win the tie-break 7-4.

If Novak Djokovic is going to keep his hopes of a second Roland Garros title then he is going to have to do it the hard way.

Cecchinato now sends a shot into the net. From 3-1 up to 3-4 down in very quick time in this tie-break.

Advantage over. Novak Djokovic produces a moment of magic to bounce it off the line at the back of the court. Both players were watching on, both hoping for different outcomes. But what a shot from Djokovic and it is now 3-3.

Fair to say Cecchinato is enjoying this. Another fist pump as he salutes the crowd. But it is still only 2-1, now 3-1 to him actually, but work still to do.
