Oosh. Nadal smashes a backhand winner. His 17th winner (he's had 25 unforced errors). But Djokovic coolly responds with one of his own and then dishes up a serve out wide.
The Serb fires a forehand into the corner and holds...again... with a stunning backhand. There is just no stopping him!

Novak is playing great tennis but Rafa is really, really far from his best level. He's been slow on his legs, slow on his footwork, he's been going to the wrong side to Novak's serve. Novak is playing great tennis but, compared to the first six matches Rafa played here, he's having a bad night.
We all consider them super-humans and we don't consider they could have a bad night, but he's having a bad day.

Someone give the man a hug.

If Rafa can come back from this, it will surely be the greatest comeback in a Grand Slam final. He's not just losing, he's being taught a lesson here.

James Stevenson: That’s that then.

Djokovic is at least four or five steps in front of Nadal tonight.

Nadal has to work so hard to win a point. It's unbelievable. If you're in Djokovic's situation, that must be such a good feeling to have.

Nadal isn't out yet. He works Djokovic - moving him left and right - before thumping a forehand winner to finish off a pulsating rally.
But another drop shot from Djokovic seals the deal as Rafa can only poke it into the net.

Almost inevitably, the first break points of the third set are Novak Djokovic's.
Djokovic 6-3 6-2 1-1 Nadal*
A ridiculous winner from Djokovic is greeted with bared teeth from Nadal. The Spaniard then double-faults.
Djokovic produces a superb backhand on the stretch and Nadal misses the forehand winner into the open court. Two break points.
Djokovic 6-3 6-2 1-1 Nadal*
Even a chant of 'let's go Rafa, let's go' seems pretty flat.

Nadal keeps on anticipating the wrong side for the Djokovic serve.

Rafa missed that final forehand by a meter and a half. He's trying to hit them a little flatter and they're just sitting right into Novak's racquet.
Djokovic 6-3 6-2 1-1 Nadal*
Another wide forehand from Nadal then he overcooks two over the baseline. A hold to love for Djokovic - the seventh time he has done so.

Jonah Byakutaaga: Nadal just looks like he can't wait to get off court. It's been that kind of final. Incredible from Djokovic. No chink in his armour so far.

Don't miss that shot, Nadal!

Nadal slams a forehand into the net. Very uncharacteristic.
