Thiem might have to rely on Djoko making errors like the forehand that fails to navigate over the net for 30-15.

    It's back to 30-30.

Now break point after Thiem puts too much on the power button with a forehand that strikes the net.

    Thiem is still pumped up.

He produces a punishing forehand equaliser for 15s each, however Thiem follows it up with another error as he looks for glory again.

The crowd then almost rise to their feet - after watching a bout of 'doubles' at the net.

This flurry of shots ends with Thiem coming out on top.

    30-30.

Thiem has so many bags of energy this morning the check-in desk is charging him an extra grand.

He comes forward to force Djoko into an error.

However he then makes a double fault and rushes a shot.

    15-30.

Thiem is doing that thing of conserving energy for his own service game.

I do that - admittedly by that stage I'm already three games down.

Murmurs of amazement start to be heard during that 23-shot rally, the Chatrier crowd managing to keep a lid on their emotions until erupting when Thiem whacks the winner down the line.

If Novak was hoping the conditions would be serenely still when he woke up this morning, then he was out of luck.

There was still quite a bit of breeze blowing around Paris earlier, although the winds were much calmer than yesterday's clay-moving gales.

Now, as play resumes, there is just an occasional chilly wind sweeping around Chatrier.

So, there was a bit of confusion and controversy at the end of Saturday's play, when officials decided to call it a day when the sun was still shining.

World number one Novak Djokovic trailed Dominic Thiem 6-2 3-6 3-1 in their semi-final when wind and rain halted play.

The weather appeared to improve but the powers that be forecasted it would turn rotten again so they made the decision.

Former world number one Amelie Mauresmo said "we have hit rock bottom".

The women's semi-final scheduling was also subject to negative comments.

You can read more about that here.

OK, so who out there thought a Ashleigh Barty v Marketa Vondrousova final was nailed on?

    We thought not.

But here we are, two weeks of brilliant entertainment where top seeds have been blown off course much like the umbrellas on Saturday.

Much of Britain hoped their very own Jo Konta would be lining up today, but alas she was removed by Czech teenager Vondrousova.

Between her and an unexpected Slam stands Australian eighth seed Barty.

That fascinating encounter takes place at about 14:00 BST.

First up it is the conclusion of Novak Djokovic and Dominic Thiem, who will both be hoping the strong winds have abated a tad.
