    Watson 5-7 1-3 Kontaveit*

This time it's Watson's turn to run and run and run some more.

Kontaveit sends a forehand back where it came from and Watson, heading the other way, throws her racquet at it in desperation. Unsurprisingly, it doesn't work.

Is that the crucial break of serve right there?

Some good play from Heather Watson sends her opponent running and a forehand on the stretch from Kontaveit is wide of target. One break point still on the table though.

He’s just walked past the woman of the moment on his way to practice.

“Hey! There she is!” he said, approaching her and shaking her hand. “Congratulations!”

Former British number one on BBC TV

Heather Watson is certainly serving well. That is a very big hold.

But it can be a snapshot - she plays very well for a minute or two - but then it snaps back.

No problems for Heather Watson as she holds her serve after losing her previous service game, which cost her the opening set.

  9. 'Can't buy a second serve'published at 14:04 British Summer Time 3 July 2019

Good banter from someone in the crowd during Nick Kyrgios' win over Jordan Thompson yesterday. Kyrgios seemed to enjoy it.

That was a frustrating way for Watson to lose the set - and she chucks her water bottle to the grass as if to make that point.

She needs to make sure she doesn’t dwell on that too much.

Fifteen unforced errors, only winning 56% on the first serve and only taking two of six break points chances. They are some of the reasons Heather Watson finds herself a set down.

  15. 'Ranking difference shines through'published at 14:00 British Summer Time 3 July 2019

    Watson 5-7 0-0 Kontaveit*

    Kim Clijsters
Four-time Grand Slam champion on BBC TV

In that last game we saw the difference in ranking a little bit. We saw Anett Kontaveit take the important moments and close Heather Watson out of the game.

Kontaveit took it to her and was aggressive, and she didn't make the unforced errors we saw her make earlier in the game.

It will be interesting if Kontaveit keeps her level up now and takes a confidence boost from winning that first set.

  16. Game and first set - Kontaveitpublished at 13:58 British Summer Time 3 July 2019

    Watson 5-7 0-0 Kontaveit*

Heather Watson is hunched over regretting that last shot as she goes well long and that gifts Anett Kontaveit the opening set. The British number two was 2-0 up but she is going to have to go the difference if she is to stay in this year's tournament.

Andy Murray is currently throwing one of those whistling rocket-type toys to one of his coaches and back. If there was a dog nearby, it would be having that.

Oh look who it is! Dan Evans has just run in and caught it just as it was falling into Murray’s hands.

Who knew warm-ups could be so fun! Do you think they would say yes if I asked to join in?
