  1. Andy v Jamie in the mixed doubles?published at 13:53 British Summer Time 3 July 2019

Andy Murray and Serena Williams will start on the opposite side of the draw to Jamie Murray and his American partner Bethanie Mattek-Sands, meaning the brothers could only meet in this competition in the final.

Williams' sister Venus is also playing, with fellow American Frances Tiafoe, while 20-year-old British player Jay Clarke is partnering teenage star Cori Gauff.

    Watson 5-5 Kontaveit*

Smiles all around Court One. The sun is shining and a Briton is holding her own against a very tough, higher-ranked opponent. After lots of breaks early on, both players are now finding their rhythm and Watson's latest hold takes us to 5-5.

  3. Game and second set Karlovicpublished at 13:52 British Summer Time 3 July 2019

    *Karlovic 3-6 7-6 (8-6) 0-1 Fabbiano

Ivo Karlovic has fought back to take the second set in a tie-break against Italian Thomas Fabbiano.

The 6ft 11 40-year-old is a bit of a crowd favourite at Wimbledon - he's playing at the All England Club for the 15th time.

  4. 'Watson must be more aggressive'published at 13:50 British Summer Time 3 July 2019

    Kim Clijsters
Four-time Grand Slam champion on BBC TV

I'd like to see Heather Watson be a little more aggressive. Whether that's taking on the second serve or whatever, she needs to make her opponent think a little more.

She's a very good defender but you can't win games by solely defending.

Kontaveit is now one game from the set after holding her serve in that ninth game.

  6. Posing with Kyrgiospublished at 13:49 British Summer Time 3 July 2019

Spain's Carla Suarez Navarro saw off the challenge of Samantha Stosur in the opening round and, after some practice time with Nick Kyrgios, is ready for France's Pauline Parmentier in round two tomorrow.

Parmentier benefited from an injured Maria Sharapova withdrawing during their first round match.

  7. Game and second set Medvedevpublished at 13:48 British Summer Time 3 July 2019

    Medvedev 6-7 (6-8) 6-1 0-0 Popyrin

Eleventh seed Daniil Medvedev was given a bit of a scare by world number 101 Alexei Popyrin but he seems to have sorted it out now.

In a flash (or 19 minutes to be exact), the Russian wins the second set 6-1.

    Kim Clijsters
Four-time Grand Slam champion on BBC TV

It's been very tense. All of the games have been very close and could have gone either way.

Neither player has built up any momentum yet.

    Sonia Oxley

Kontaveit has some pedigree on grass – the one WTA title she has came on the surface at ‘s-Hertogenbosch in 2017.

But Watson is standing toe-to-toe with her and the packed Court One is loving it.

    Watson 4-4 Kontaveit*

That is a very, very good hold from Watson. The first set was just in danger of getting away from her then but a lovely forehand down the line is just too good for the Estonian and we are level again.

  11. Pliskova breakspublished at 13:45 British Summer Time 3 July 2019

    Puig 0-6 1-3 Pliskova*

Monica Puig had just held serve for the first time, but twice was too much to ask.

Third seed Karolina Pliskova breaks again and it looks like the Czech could have this one wrapped up in no time.

A misjudged backhand flies towards the crowd from Heather Watson and now she has to dig deep as she faces a break point.

I could hear him before I could see him.

Rafa Nadal’s cry as he serves really does help to pinpoint his location when you’ve forgotten which practice court he is on...

He’s just finished after an hour and a half and, after watching Coco Gauff for a little bit, has just greeted his waiting fans, most of whom were Spanish!

  14. 'Kontaveit must improve mentally'published at 13:42 British Summer Time 3 July 2019

    *Watson 3-4 Kontaveit

    Kim Clijsters
Four-time Grand Slam champion on BBC TV

Taking that extra step to break into the top 10 is a lot to do with your mental game.

Anett Kontaveit has to get used to the fact everyone will want to beat her now. For a long time she was the underdog and she was able to play freely.

Now, her ranking has gone down a little bit so she needs to work out how to mentally alter her game to get back to where she was.

  15. Game and fourth set Opelkapublished at 13:41 British Summer Time 3 July 2019

    *Wawrinka 5-7 6-3 6-4 4-6 0-1 Opelka

We're going to a fifth set on court two.

Swiss 22nd seed Stan Wawrinka seemed to have regained control of the match after going a set down to American Reilly Opelka but times have changed again now.

Opelka pounced at the right moment to break Wawrinka's serve at 5-4 up. It looks like it could be a long day for these two.

  16. Kontaveit saves two break pointspublished at 13:41 British Summer Time 3 July 2019

    *Watson 3-4 Kontaveit

Nervy moments for the Estonian, but she just about gets through that game, saving two break points. But, after four breaks already in a thrilling match, we're on serve in the opening set with Kontaveit 4-3 ahead.

Break point Watson. The first serve from Kontaveit is out but that's a missed chance as, after a fine baseline rally, Watson sends it halfway up the net.

  20. Puig wins a gamepublished at 13:37 British Summer Time 3 July 2019

    Puig 0-6 1-1 Pliskova*

It's happened! After 27 minutes, Monica Puig has won a game.

Karolina Pliskova's shot lands long and makes the score 1-1 in the second set. That's got to feel good for the Puerto Rican.
