    Hercog 6-3 5-2 Gauff*

Gauff is struggling to get the ball over the net now.

She slips, but gets to a drop-shot anyway. But the American is caught out at the net and faces match point.

Two-time Grand Slam champion on BBC TV

There's so much to like about Coco Gauff and I think she's got a wonderful foundation.

She has so many weapons already. The athleticism, the composure - and she's been dealing with a lot this last week.

  4. Hercog one game from victorypublished at 18:29 British Summer Time 5 July 2019

    Hercog 6-3 5-2 Gauff*

Gauff puts herself in a good position to hit a winner... but it goes straight into the net.

She's back in the same position on the next point and the same thing happens again.

A backhand into the net and Hercog holds to love. One more game needed.

  5. 'The shift is happening'published at 18:27 British Summer Time 5 July 2019

    Djokovic 7-5 6-7 (5-7) 6-1 6-4 Hurkacz

Defending champion Novak Djokovic speaking to BBC Sport: "Congratulations to Hubert for putting in a great effort. He deserved applause from the crowd. He was serving well and hitting clean and accurate shots. He deserved to win the second set. Credit to him for high quality tennis.

"I guess each one of us players deal with circumstances differently. I try to focus one point at a time. I just wanted to hold my serve and get as many returns into play. I played a good third and a solid fourth set.

"I haven't not played many times up and coming stars. It's great. We have a new group of young players challenging the best. The shift is happening. How soon they will start winning majors, hopefully not too soon."

  6. Gauff holdspublished at 18:27 British Summer Time 5 July 2019

    *Hercog 6-3 4-2 Gauff

Gauff sends Hercog running into the corner, but the world number 60 smacks a pacy forehand back to get to 30-30.

The 15-year-old is keeping her head, though. She comes to the net and forces the error from Hercog.

The Slovenian then hits the ball long and Gauff shouts "come on" as she holds. Is there a glimmer of hope or is it only a matter of time?

  7. 'Almost a perfect week'published at 18:27 British Summer Time 5 July 2019

    Djokovic 7-5 6-7 (5-7) 6-1 6-4 Hurkacz

    Tim Henman
Former British number one on BBC TV at Wimbledon

It's almost the perfect week for Djokovic.

Today he has had to play at a fairly high level out on one of the show courts.

Now he has two days off so he can regroup and start again on the second Monday.

Don Wimble: Coco Gauff is going down hard today, but when the dust settles she can look back on an amazing Wimbledon debut, and look forward to a stellar future.

David Mbewa: All good things must come to an end, however crushing the feeling is.

Sander De Wijs: Oh man she's getting whacked off the court now! Don't like it one bit.

  10. 'Djokovic sickeningly consistent'published at 18:24 British Summer Time 5 July 2019

    Djokovic 7-5 6-7 (5-7) 6-1 6-4 Hurkacz

    John McEnroe
Three-time Wimbledon singles champion on BBC TV

For the opposition, he is sickeningly consistent.

Djokovic sets the bar so high. His ability to hit the tennis ball is amazing.

You have to play the match of your life just to stay in it. Hurkacz played exceptionally well, he just didn't have enough in the tank.

Gauff has probably never seen a serve this big - apart from against Venus Williams. This is a whole new ball game.

Still no way in for Gauff on Hercog's serve.

The Slovenian sends an ace down the middle, then swings one out wide to move within two games of the fourth round.

Not many 15-year-olds have a full-time team! And that helps massively. It will help Gauff improve so quickly.

  15. Gauff holdspublished at 18:19 British Summer Time 5 July 2019

    *Hercog 6-3 3-1 Gauff

This is a relief for Gauff. Hercog takes her foot of the gas for a game, hitting a backhand into the net to give Gauff a 40-0 lead.

The American then hits a good forehand which Hercog can't return. The Slovenian's run of seven games has finally been stopped.

Two errors and we're at 30-30.

Court One starts hollering like the attendees of PM's questions.

Djoko however then, in the way he does, brings up match point.

Hubi will be relieved when the shuttle runs come to an end.

It looks like Coco is getting a little overpowered. It seems like her heading is rolling a bit and she doesn't know which gameplan to go with.
