  1. Murray on partnering Serenapublished at 10:51 British Summer Time 5 July 2019

Playing mixed doubles with Serena is something that had never been in my mind until this opportunity came up.

I don't know her extremely well, we've never spent much time hanging out together and we've never played together - so let's see what happens!

But I think we do a lot of things quite similarly on court that should bode well for us as a partnership.

Both of us play predominantly from the baseline, neither of us play as much up at the net, plus we are both good movers and good athletes. And then, obviously, she serves unbelievably well.

I don't think we have ever even hit together over the years, but hopefully we are going to do that today before this evening's match.

  2. When will we see Murray & Williams?published at 10:45 British Summer Time 5 July 2019

Right, getting back to today's business...

Mixed doubles rarely has the kind of spotlight it will be under when the much-anticipated partnership of former world number one Andy Murray and 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams takes to the stage.

No court has been announced yet for what will be the hottest ticket in town, although organisers have said their match against Alexa Guarachi and Andreas Mies will not be before 17:30 BST.

Murray, 32, returned to Grand Slam tennis for the first time since career-saving hip surgery with a first-round victory alongside Pierre-Hugues Herbert in the men's doubles on Thursday.

Get Involved - the Kyrgios debate...published at 10:43 British Summer Time 5 July 2019

Elliot Fitzpatrick: As far as Kyrgios is concerned I wonder whether his admission to a lack of training is own way of allowing himself to be defeated. If he trained his backside off and still didn't make the grade (i.e. winning tournaments) that might be a very difficult pill to swallow.

Rob Shields: There’s honesty then there’s DISRESPECT.

Mike Durham: Sport does not need bad boys: it is not more entertaining when someone loses their cool. If anything, it's downright embarrassing. Play to your strengths and if you don't have the talent to beat the best then learn to lose gracefully rather than resort to tantrums.

  4. Oh, hello...published at 10:40 British Summer Time 5 July 2019

If you didn't quite get your Nick Kyrgios fix yesterday, then he's back in action today in the mixed doubles this afternoon. Looks like he's just woken up, too...

Gerard Boyd: Kyrgios said he deliberately tried to hit Nadal and defended it on the basis that Nadal had won all these championships and had lots of money so why should he care Utter joke of a statement. That's an idiot not some anti-hero.

  7. 'Don't get emotional for nothing'published at 10:30 British Summer Time 5 July 2019

    Boris Becker
Three-time Wimbledon champion on BBC TV

I want Nick Kyrgios to learn from that, he's such a fine tennis player, we want him in tennis, we maybe even need him in tennis once the big three are gone.

Yes you should get emotional every now and then but don't get emotional for nothing. You're not going to change the tennis world without winning a major.

Quite often these blockbuster matches that we talk up when we see the draw just don't deliver because one player is too strong or one doesn't turn up. This one I was pleased it didn't end in a bar-room brawl.

  9. 5 Live your call - the Kyrgios debate...published at 10:24 British Summer Time 5 July 2019

    Here's what the listeners said...

Chris, Wales: What's the point of Nick Kyrgios, if he has all the talent these pundits say he has then he needs to harness it. Eric Cantona won stuff, Paulo Di Canio won stuff. If this was a footballer at 24 years old we'd have written him off. He's acting like a spoiled baby. Nadal has made money because he has won championships.

Jill: Eric Cantona did not win everything on his own. Kyrgios is out there on his own. I watched it yesterday and never really appreciated how irritating Nadal's antics are until I was actually there. I suddenly realised if I was Kyrgios I would be slowly coming to the boil. Kyrgios could have won that game yesterday, it was level right up to the end.

Stu, Gateshead: Yesterday watching it was so absorbing and the shift in Kyrgios' behaviour after that second set. I was disappointed in his press conference, his self admission that he doesn't train is not great because he could be up there. He went toe-to-toe with Nadal. Rafa knew what he was doing winding him up.

  10. 'Like Marmite - you love him or hate him'published at 10:19 British Summer Time 5 July 2019

    BBC Radio 5 Live

Former British number one Greg Rusedski on BBC Radio 5 Live: "Nick Kyrgios is a little bit like Marmite - you either love him or hate him. He brings a lot of people into our sport, sometimes his behaviour is acceptable sometimes its not.

"It's fair in tennis to hit someone when they are in your range but if you're intentionally doing it... these guys don't get on very well. For me it was fair as a shot but the decent thing to do is apologise.

"If you are going to be a bad boy you have got to be a la John McEnroe, win Slams and that justifies your behaviour."

Wimbledon 2019: Nick Kyrgios does signature underarm serve against Rafael Nadal

He's one of the bad boys of tennis but you just can't take your eyes off him.

Nick Kyrgios divides opinion - some love his antics and others think he oversteps the mark.

Underarm second serve? Hitting the ball straight at an opponent? Arguing with officials?

The Aussie dominated the debate on BBC Radio 5 Live's Your Call this morning, despite being knocked out by Rafael Nadal in a thriller yesterday - losing 6-3 3-6 7-6 (7-5) 7-6 (7-3) to the Spaniard.

Another intriguing third-round match is between former world number ones Simona Halep and Victoria Azarenka.

Top seed Novak Djokovic is in action, as is 2018 runner-up Kevin Anderson.

There are no Britons in singles action, with Johanna Konta, Harriet Dart and Dan Evans resuming their campaigns on Saturday.

It's been the "will they, won't they" saga of the summer but earlier this week we finally got the nod that Andy Murray and Serena Williams will partner one another in the mixed doubles.

And today is the day we get to see them in action!

    Welcome to Friday at Wimbledon...
