Not for long. Federer, chuntering away in his native tongue, bats off the pressure and holds.

    Djokovic 7-6 (7-5) 1-6 7-6 (7-4) 2-1 Federer

Federer moves 30-0 ahead with an ace, then whacks a backhand into the net. Mirka looks pensive, more so when Djokovic drags her man back to 40-30.

Novak is scrabbling about on the baseline, his best Stretch Armstrong impression seeing him stay in the point and lump an inch-perfect backhand winner down the line.

    That's deuce...

Shall we just call it off now? That last stat has ruined the suspense for me.

Djokovic continues to put his foot on the gas, holding to love.

Uff! Daniel Harris... dropping that GOAT among the pigeons there.

We could argue about that all afternoon. I suspect we will argue about that for the next century.

Anyway... Federer has Djokovic on his shoulder at 30-30 - and then 40-30 - a forehand winner sealing the deal.

Daniel Harris: 4th set, 1 break for Djokovic and a simple clean end to the match now. He's truly the GOAT of tennis.

James Stevenson: This is a confusing match. Federer probably the better player until we have got to the tie-breaks. Big ask now

Roger Federer's backhand has broken down. I think it is just the tension of the situation, even with all his great experience.

    "Kevin, will he score?"

    "Yes."

Tim channelled a bit of Kevin Keegan at the 1998 World Cup there, blunt and concise in his prediction.

Whether he calls it right, unlike Kev on David Batty's penalty, remains to be seen.

Not a strong start for Federer, lumping a forehand long as Djokovic makes the ideal start.

  10. 'Federer struggled in critical moments'published at 16:31 British Summer Time 14 July 2019

    Tim Henman

Given Federer's strategy and how aggressive he is trying to play, it's amazing how consistent he's been.

But in the two tie-breaks there have been too many unforced errors.

Federer has been the better player in this match, but in those two critical moments his level has dipped.

He can do it, but I don't think he will do it.

Roger, like Novak after the second, nips off court for a moment of reflection.

  13. Chan & Dodig win mixed doubles titlepublished at 16:30 British Summer Time 14 July 2019

The mixed doubles usually brings Wimbledon to a close but it's already done and dusted on Court One.

Chinese Taipei's Latisha Chan and Croatia's Ivan Dodig have taken the title, beating Latvia's Jelena Ostapenko and Swede Robert Lindstedt 6-2 6-3.

It's the women's doubles final between Su-Wei Hsieh and Barbora Strycova v Gabriela Dabrowski and Yifan Xu which will follow the Fed-Djoko final.

That match didn't get on court yesterday because of the marathon men's doubles final.

I am sure that Roger Federer is not done yet, but Novak Djokovic has broken out of that 'float mode' that he has.

You think that he is out of the match, drifting out of contention and then he snaps back.

No wonder Strictly royalty* has joined us here on Centre Court - this is a tennis-ing tango.

Fancy footwork, dramatic movements and an element of romance. Just not between the two protagonists.

A quickstep from Djokovic wrongfooted Federer there. Another swing in the fourth?
