Gosh, Nadal is merciless. Give the guy a chance! I don't think I've ever seen a human being, animal, or any kind of species, more competitive than Rafa Nadal. Ever. The dude is always competing. He always has to be playing something or winning at something. He never stops.

Oh my word, that was a moment of stamping his authority on the match. That was a game in which Chung played well!
*Zverev 5-5 Bedene
Oops! Alexander Zverev looked to be cruising on Louis Armstrong but despite holding off break point in his last game, he's been broken in this one.
The sixth seed was 4-1 up but Aljaz Bedene holds to confirm the break back and we're all even again at 5-5 in the opening set.
*Nadal 6-3 3-2 Chung
Sublime from the Spaniard. A pin-point forehand winner down the line.
Rafael Nadal edges into the lead in the second set.

Nadal 6-3 2-2 Chung*
A second break point in the second set for Rafael Nadal as Chung Hyeon finds the net.
Nadal 6-3 2-2 Chung*
Chung Hyeon is matching Rafael Nadal for the most part, and he forces the world number two to yank a sweeping forehand into the tramlines.
Trouble is, the world number 170 can't find any consistency. The next backhand slips wide.
Deuce.
Nadal 6-3 2-2 Chung*
Well saved by the South Korean, dashing into the net to meet a Rafael Nadal passing shot and slapping it away from the Spaniard for deuce.
Nadal 6-3 2-2 Chung*
Uh oh.
Chung stings a backhand into the tape and that hands Nadal a break point.
Nadal 6-3 2-2 Chung*
Goodness. More spin than an election campaign in that backhand exchange between Chung and Nadal. Eventually the Spaniard wins out, only to duff his next forehand long.
30-30.

Wow! Right on the baseline. Chung was about to put his hand up to challenge then realised, 'oh my goodness, that is just the perfect lob'. This guy has practiced!
Nadal 6-3 2-2 Chung*
That's roused the Arthur Ashe crowd!
Chung Hyeon fails to put a smash away and Rafael Nadal teases him with a delicate lob that drifts on to the line.
15-15.
Nadal 6-3 2-2 Chung*
Quick hold for Rafa. This set is gathering pace.
*Nadal 6-3 1-2 Chung
He's turning it on, the world number two.
Chung has to generate a huge return of his own to make a dent in the Rafael Nadal serve, but it's merely a blemish as the Spaniard rushes to 40-15.

I've got my jaw a little dropped at that forehand on the run. It was really a thing of beauty. If you are at home and are able to record that - play it for your students!
*Nadal 6-3 1-2 Chung
How about that? Wonderful from Rafael Nadal, a glistening forehand winner down the line.
And a fist bump to boot. 15-0.
*Nadal 6-3 1-2 Chung
Rafael Nadal gobbles down a sachet of something suitably nutritious between the change of ends, taking on board some fluids and meticulously lining up his bottles again.
He has a quick word with the umpire, who shrugs as Nadal bounces on by,

Hold to love for Chung Hyeon. Looking good out there, despite trailing by a set.
Zverev 5-2 Bedene*
There appeared to be no issues for German sixth seed Alexander Zverev. He won his first three service games to love after breaking in Aljaz Bedene's first game.
Out of nowhere, he was then up against a break point at 4-2, but the 2018 ATP Tour champion came through unscathed. He is now a game away from taking the first set.
Nadal 6-3 1-1 Chung*
Chung Hyeon comes skipping into the net to meet an overhead smash and send it skipping beyond Rafael Nadal. 30-0.
