Murray with a drop shot. Time stands still as everyone waits to see if Otte can get there.

It's a brave, brave effort from the German but it bounces for a second time just before he can reach it. And there's the break.

Brilliant drama. If Murray holds his serve from here on, he's in round three.

Otte must feel like the world is against him. A straight-forward volley at the net for Murray, on the Otte serve, is greeted by a championship-style winning cheer.

    Laura Robson
Former British number one on BBC Radio 5 Live

My heart rate is through the roof. Watching the crowd is stressing me out even more! They are living for every single shot. Andy doing a good job there of firing them up even more, I know they can help him so much here.

    Otte 3-6 6-4 6-4 4-6 Murray

Denis Shapovalov, the Canadian 10th seed, must be loving the fact this has gone five sets as he plays the winner on Friday.

He is going to be well rested as he didn't even have to play his second-round tie as Spaniard Pablo Andujar was unable to compete and withdrew because of injury.

  8. Murray 'roaring' at the crowdpublished at 21:43 British Summer Time 30 June 2021

Murray is putting through it once again!

The centre court crowd are on their feet! Everybody's roaring, they're waving their flags, stomping their feet and Murray is roaring right back.

    Brilliant.

A cross-court backhand from Andy Murray and we're going the distance.

For Oscar Otte, it's the second five-setter in two days as he got here via a tie-breaker after it was 12-12.

    It's a one-set showdown for a place in the last 32.

    A Wonderful Wimbledon Wednesday.

Theo: This is like the good old days... Murray putting us through the wringer. Fabulous sport.

Stephanie: I'm so out of practice...being a Murray supporter. I've lost my resilience! Come on Andy.

The space is there for what would've been a sensational winner down the line, it's curved from Murray but the passing attempt just doesn't have enough swerve on it and it stays wide. 15-15.

  13. Postpublished at 21:38 British Summer Time 30 June 2021

Murray find the angle and gets a bit of help off the top of the net as the ball clips it, hits the tape, slows down but crosses. 0-15.

That becomes 0-30 as Otte nets.

Murray, just as he was in the previous game, is two points from taking the set for 2-2.

    *Otte 3-6 6-4 6-4 4-5 Murray

Brilliant from Otte, heartbreak for Murray. Otte's forehand is expertly guided into the far corner, Murray can just about get there but the return is no good, the angle just too tight.

Murray was two points from the fourth set, instead we're back on serve.

Murray sends another one into the net. Break point for Otte.

  16. Postpublished at 21:34 British Summer Time 30 June 2021

Murray is pumped up and screams out, but it's not a scream of happiness this one, one of sheer frustration at himself for netting. 30-30. Murray still two points from the set.

Otte sends the ball low and hard into the back of the net. Great news if he was a German centre-forward and not a German tennis player.

Murray two points from the set. 30-15.

Great noise. A wonderful atmosphere. Wimbledon and the Euros are reminding us all why we love sport so much when the fans are in and just how much difference they can make.

Murray one game away from taking us into a decider.
