Just as I give the Otte serve the big build-up, he chips in with a double fault. Deuce.
*Otte 3-6 6-4 2-3 Murray
There's really no messing about with this Otte serve. Aim, release, fire. It's a low ball toss, but it's certainly effective and that takes his ace count into double figures.
*Otte 3-6 6-4 2-3 Murray
A lovely two-handed backhand sliced drop shot is a thing of beauty from Murray, and one that will look great in slow motion in the highlights' reel. Otte also takes the opportunity to sit and watch it, no need for this running, it was just too good.
Murray holds to nudge ahead, but we're still on serve in the third.

We expect so much from Andy on these courts that when his level drops every so slightly, you do notice it. His forehand has dropped off a bit, like what we saw in the first-round match where the nerves came in and he took some pace off the ball.
Otte is putting Andy under a lot of pressure now and playing with freedom.

If you’re thinking Oscar Otte will run out of gas then maybe think again.
Towards the end of last year, when he returned to the ATP Challenger Tour from the enforced break because of the pandemic, he reached the Ostrava final and then won a title in Aix en Provence.
What was behind the sparkling form? The German put it down to prioritising fitness.
*Schwartzman 4-6 6-2 6-1 3-1 Broady
Diego Schwartzman plays a drop shot on court 12 that's too beautiful to paint, too delightful to photograph and too detailed to sculpt.
Banish it to the archives and let the few who saw it be the only ones who share all that it was.
He breaks Liam Broady in the fourth. What a rascal.
That loud noise you can hear is the fat lady singing.

Murray, furious with himself, slaps his own thigh in anger. Hope you're comfortable, this is going long. Otte then holds to love with a strong service game'

Murray deep in thought and lost in a world of his own muttering.
Still, looking better at the start of this set.

A hold to 15 is just what Andy Murray needs to settle his nerves and the nerves of 7,500 people.

Murray's going to have to dig deep here and get into some long, hard rallies - which I'm not sure he's seasoned to do...
Otte 3-6 6-4 1-1 Murray*
Otte's storming away with the aces competition, nine for the German, two for Murray. That's a hold for Otte so it's one-one in third-set games and one-one overall.
*Otte 3-6 6-4 0-1 Murray
Who's got the most left in the tank? It was a tiring first round for both men, while Otte is in his fifth match of the tournament and we all know about Andy Murray's recent fitness problems.
Murray's going to need the crowd roaring him on. They're doing their part and he responds with a hold to get us going in the third.

The applause which greeted Oscar Otte winning the second set sounded rather forced from most of the crowd.
Could be another long night ahead. At least the fans know a night of entertainment is guaranteed for all when Andy Murray is around.

Was it ever going to be straightforward with Andy Murray at Wimbledon? Split sets. He's never lost at a Grand Slam to someone with a ranking as low as Otte at 151.
There is still a long way to go, but Otte has given himself a chance here.

Into the third set we go.

Some days life is frustrating.
On others, it's frustrating to a whole new level.
Just ask Liam Broady, who has taken two from 16 (SIXTEEN) break points today.
Schwartzman 4-6 6-2 6-1 1-0 Broady*
Liam Broady started quickly and it's maybe showing.
Diego Schwartzman pulled out the full repertoire in set three, drop shots, gutsy saves, each point slowly beating up Broady.
It's time to dig and take this to the trenches Liam...

It's never simple, it's never easy - and we settle in for a longer evening with Andy Murray.
Otte 3-6 6-4 Murray
We're at one set all. This is going four, at least.
That was a chance with Andy Murray flatfooted, but Otte's shoulder gets a bit loose and he flicks away a forehand and it's out. But...
