Zing. A 100mph return from Roger Federer, and John McEnroe called it exactly... he's pleased with himself for that one. But Federer hasn't got the legs to get up to a delightful Hubert Hurkacz drop shot, supreme nonchalance from the 24-year-old. Before miscueing a forehand! Deuce.

    Fery/Moore 5-5 Skukspi/Krawczyk*

Britons Arthur Fery and Tara Moore are in mixed doubles action on court three against compatriot Neal Skupski and American partner Desirae Krawczyk.

There has been an exchange of breaks but otherwise it's been nip and tuck in the third-round tie, and the first set looks like it is heading for a tie-break.

Meanwhile, Naomi Broady and French partner Jeremy Chardy have just started their third-round tie with South African Raven Klaasen and Croatia's Darija Jurak and it's 1-1 with serve.

    *Federer 3-6 2-0 Hurkacz

  9. Berrettini: 'Biggest one-two punch in the game'published at 17:02 British Summer Time 7 July 2021

    John McEnroe
Three-time Wimbledon singles champion on BBC TV

I am not sure there is a bigger one-two punch in the game, with his serve and forehand. He can potentially take the racquet out of anyone's hand.

He will have to deal with the mement. Can he do this against Felix and if he faces Roger can he bring his A-Game?

He has to have a plan B

  10. Auger-Aliassime: 'It has taken him a while but he's figuring it out'published at 17:02 British Summer Time 7 July 2021

    John McEnroe
Three-time Wimbledon singles champion on BBC TV

Felix is very strategic about everything he does and it is starting to pay off, and it will really pay off down the road.

He has worked hard and has improved on his net play.

I give the edge to Felix. It has taken him a while but he's figuring it out.

I mean what is going on in Canada? How are these guys so good and Americans are just lagging behind. Our North American cousins are taking it to us!

    Federer 3-6 Hurkacz

    John McEnroe

Anyway, Roger Federer is a set down on Centre Court and nobody really knows how to react.

  18. 'Playing with freedom'published at 16:54 British Summer Time 7 July 2021

    Federer 3-6 Hurkacz

Very well played. Hurkacz had never been beyond a third round at a Grand Slam before, so breaking new ground.

Sometimes the floodgates open, you play with freedom.
