Murray looks like he wants immediate revenge for the break as he fires a cross-court backhand at Broady. But it lands long and that brings up 30-30.

The tables quickly turn again and Murray gets the break.

Because of his new situation I think Andy Murray is going to have to be more aggressive than he likes to be. It is a big change. Players tend to fall into habits and into their comfort zone. But can he afford to retreat and try to scrap around at the back of the court like he used to do so well?

When Broady can catch Murray on the run, he has the advantage. He hits a backhand into the corner and Murray's return goes long. We're level again.

Murray saves break point with a lovely serve down the middle.

But Broady is back at the net again on the next point and Murray can only watch as his backhand flies past him. Third break point...

Murray can't quite close this one out. A backhand goes into the net and it's deuce as the game clock reaches eight minutes.

Broady comes to the net again and hits a short volley out of Murray's reach. Another chance to break back.

It is nice to hear Andy Murray being positive, saying he hit a big serve. He did hit a big serve! Usually he is very negative or sarcastic to himself.

"Come on, big serve!" Murray shouts at himself after he saves break point.

It does the trick at first... but then he double faults. Deuce again.

A nice second serve return puts Broady 15-0 up. Murray recovers, but hammers a forehand into the net to bring up 30-30.

Broady tests Murray's movement again and again comes out on top as Murray's backhand sails wide. Break point.

That was a much better game from Liam Broady, he's settling down now. I think he was a touch nervous at the beginning. We know Murray will be so solid from the back of the court, it is a really good start for him.

Like all of us, Andy Murray has been finding new things to do during lockdown. His way of escaping mentally and keeping fit has been... road cycling.

"It was a great way to help build my fitness and I enjoyed it, so my wife bought me a bike for my birthday," he says in his latest BBC Sport column.

"I've been out quite a bit on routes fairly close to where I live in Surrey ever since. I usually ride for 60-90 minutes and one of my favourite rides is Box Hill, a famous route in the Surrey Hills, where the Olympic cyclists rode during London 2012.

"When I've been out, I've been trying to beat the times I've done the week before. It is a nice way to compete against yourself and give you something to aim for."

Broady finds some rhythm, nails his serve and is quickly 40-0 up.

The 26-year-old comes to the net and pats a volley over to win his first game.

It is eerily quiet without spectators and that's something we are going to have to get used to for a considerable amount of time.

Broady said he hopes Murray moves well before this match and he's certainly putting him to the test. He gets the former Wimbledon champion running left, then right before slamming the ball down out of reach.

But Murray holds his nerves and finishes the game off with an ace.

Murray's coach Jamie Delgado is acting as a ball boy in the corner. He has a stash of balls and is wearing surgical gloves as a safety measure.

That's more like it. Broady gets Murray on the run and it works. He's too slow to get to the ball and then, after losing the point, has to lope forward to pick it up. It's a hard life without ball kids.

Another baseline rally ensues and Murray comes off worse again, hitting a backhand into the net. 30-30.

Murray was gaining some momentum going into the Davis Cup, winning the Antwerp Open in that final against Stan Wawrinka. I think it might have been too many matches too quickly.

He's ready. You could tell in that first game, he's got tactics down to a tee which is to focus on Broady's forehand.

Well that's a nice gift when you're coming back from a long injury lay-off.

Broady wraps things up with a double fault to give Murray and early break.

The youngsters may have been giving him some stick on Whatsapp but Murray is first off the mark as Broady sends two forehands into the net, then another one long.

Three break points for the former world number one.

World number one Novak Djokovic has become the latest Adria Tour player to test positive for coronavirus.

Grigor Dimitrov, Borna Coric and Viktor Troicki all have the virus too after playing at the event hosted by Djokovic.
