    Raducanu 4-3 Fernandez*

Boom! A fist-pump worthy winner from Emma Raducanu, firing a huge forehand down the line.

She has Leylah Fernandez sprinting side to side like a PE teacher dishing out the bleep test but somehow the Canadian keeps getting it back - remarkable defence - until eventually Raducanu just has too much and another forehand zips beyond the 19-year-old to see the British teenager hold.

    *Raducanu 3-3 Fernandez

Very well worked from the qualifier, edging towards the net and putting away a volley after closing off the angle for Leylah Fernandez.

The Brit takes a high ball on the full but the Canadian gets it back, looping the fluff high into the New York sky, Emma Raducanu again goes for the volley but this time hooks it long. 30-30.

    *Raducanu 3-3 Fernandez

Leylah Fernandez clips the tape with a forehand, watches on anxiously as the ball flirts with the idea of dropping back on her side but breathes a sigh of relief as it wriggles towards the half of Emma Raducanu and slides down the Brit's side of the net. The Canadian holds.

Raducanu has a better service technique. You'd think it would be more consistent.

    Raducanu 3-2 Fernandez*

Third double fault of the match from Leylah Fernandez and it gives Emma Raducanu a sniff here...

The Brit thinks she's found the line with a whipped forehand but it leaks just wide. 30-30.

    Raducanu 3-2 Fernandez*

Twenty-five minutes in and we've already got an impressive highlights package. Some seriously enthralling, aggressive tennis from both players.

Emma Raducanu fiddles with her strings and then blows on her finger tips as she waits to receive serve, but can only cup a forehand long. 15-15.

Four outstanding points from 0-30 from Raducanu just as Fernandez was starting to make her presence felt.

    Raducanu 3-2 Fernandez*

Good fightback on serve from Emma Raducanu, rifling down a string of big efforts to punch her way back to 40-30 and then the hold. A good recovery from 0-30 down.

Huge serve from the Canadian, almost ripping Emma Raducanu's racquet from her grasp, and Leylah Fernandez holds to level up on the scoreboard in this US Open final.

    Raducanu 2-1 Fernandez*

That's superb from Emma Raducanu, she couldn't have placed any of those strokes better if she picked them up and placed them in the build up to slapping away a volleyed winner.

Leylah Fernandez then miscues and Raducanu is applying some pressure at 40-30.

    Raducanu 2-1 Fernandez*

Lovely change of direction on a forehand from Leylah Fernandez, just opening up her strings to guide it into a difficult spot for Emma Raducanu. The Canadian shows a remarkably deft touch too to leave the British qualifier rooted to the baseline. 40-0.
