What a fabulous rally - and a crucial one for Cam Norrie to win.
Evans 4-6 5-4 Norrie*
Ooh. 17 strokes, with both players on the run, but eventually Norrie takes the point as Evans digs a backhand wide. Norrie goes long off the next point and now Evans senses an opportunity.
Two set points for the British number one.

Double fault from Dan Evans. He's finding it tough at the minute. Deuce. The British number one is really having to work for each service game.

When I saw the draw, I did not think this was going to be a straightforward match. Dan Evans comes into this match full of confidence but they know each other's game so well and they practise a lot with each other. Cameron Norrie is intense; he makes a lot of balls and can put Evans under pressure.

Dan Evans has his girlfriend and a friend in his courtside box. Evans reckons the friend, who lives in Australia, has been to 10 Grand Slams with him. He says its nice to go for coffee with someone who you can switch off with and talk about stuff other than tennis.
Evans 4-6 4-3 Norrie*
Cameron Norrie is looking pretty comfortable at the moment. Not a flicker of emotion of as he edges to 30-0 with a neat, backhand slice on the volley.

Dan Evans is shaking his head between points. He is not finding it easy.
Evans 4-6 4-3 Norrie*
Ace from Dan Evans. He'll fancy a few more of those. It's complemented by a sizzling forehand winner off the next one for a solid hold.
*Evans 4-6 3-3 Norrie
Dan Evans still isn't happy, shaking his head after a volley drifts wide. Cameron Norrie flings a return long off the next serve and it's 30-30.
As we know, the Australian Open has only been possible after all the international arrivals for the tournament were put into a 14-day quarantine.
That – and the way Australia has managed to control the virus in recent months – means up to 30,000 fans are allowed in each day to watch.
The BBC’s Australia correspondent Shaimaa Khalil has been finding out how those spectators are being kept safe.
*Evans 4-6 3-3 Norrie
Fruity return from Dan Evans, sticking it back towards Cameron Norrie's feet to get on the board in this game, but the 30th seed can do nothing to stop Norrie holding as he wriggles to the net and cups a deft volley over the tape.
Evans 4-6 3-2 Norrie*
Dan Evans creeps to the net but Cameron Norrie has his number with a low, dipping backhand that the British number one can't get down to. 40-0.
