Djokovic 7-6 (7-1) 6-4 3-6 2-3 Fritz*
Sadly, what will now be a common sight for the next five days at least, the stands are empty with just a small handful of coaches and support staff left in the players' box and that's it.
The US Open was played behind closed doors in August and September and now, until Thursday, the Australian Open will be too.
Everyone in the arena is now being asked / told to leave the stadium because of the lockdown.
A reminder that with the five-day lockdown, which was announced earlier today, everyone in Melbourne needs to be in their homes by 23:59 local time (12:59 GMT).
Both players have left the court and Djokovic was be relieved as it gives him a bit of a break from that injury.
Some fans are leaving, some are refusing to. No fans will be seeing any more tennis until Thursday at the earliest again as, because of the coronavirus, this event is now behind closed doors.
Novak Djokovic would absolutely love it if the match was halted for the day to ensure all these fans left the stadium when they were meant to.
That might be the only way he can stay in the tournament if this rib injury / side strain continues to hamper him.
Fritz consolidates that break and leads 3-1 in the fourth.
Djokovic 7-6 (7-1) 6-4 3-6 1-2 Fritz*
Djokovic, severely impeded, can only send his serve into the net and Taylor Fritz gets the break. He leads 2-1 with a break, but Djokovic is two sets to one up.
Also, for some extra drama, everyone in the stands, is in theory, going to be booted out because of the lockdown which is coming very, very soon.
Djokovic 7-6 (7-1) 6-4 3-6 1-1 Fritz
Every shot Djokovic is playing looks to be a painful one as Fritz gets another break-point chance.
Djokovic 7-6 (7-1) 6-4 3-6 1-1 Fritz
This is a great chance for Taylor Fritz, and the American has a break point with Djokovic struggling to move.
He is in considerable discomfort, but manages to save off the break point.
Iga Swiatek 6-4 6-3 Fiona Ferro
Poland's Iga Swiatek, the 15th seed, moves into the fourth round with a routine 6-4 6-3 win over Fiona Ferro of Italy.
We could be seeing a major story here as Novak Djokovic is struggling with a hip injury and is limping about a bit.
Those in Rod Laver Arena are now being told they will have to leave soon, and that gets a lot of booing, but there's not much the organisers are going to be able to do.
Everyone is meant to be back at their home by midnight (13:00 GMT) because of the lockdown and there will no be fans in attendance again until Thursday at the earliest.
Djokovic 7-6 (7-1) 6-4 3-6 Fritz
World number one Novak Djokovic is two sets to one up against American Taylor Fritz, the 27th seed.
Djokovic won the first set via a tie-break, then took the second but Fritz has just taken the third set 6-3
Those watching this one in the stadium may be disappointed soon though as everyone is going to be leaving the Rod Laver Arena in 20 minutes because of the lockdown, which kicks in at midnight Melbourne time.
Gordon Reid and Alfie Hewett are in separate halves of the wheelchair singles draw at the Australian Open.
Last year’s runner up Reid will play the second seed Gustavo Fernandez in the first round, while Hewett takes on Nicolas Peifer of France.
The wheelchair events take place between Sunday and Wednesday, which means all matches will be played behind closed doors.
In the women’s singles, Lucy Shuker starts against Momoko Ohtani of Japan.
And in an expanded eight man quad draw, the second seed Andy Lapthorne faces his doubles partner David Wagner in the first round.
Thiem 4-6 4-6 6-3 6-4 6-4 Kyrgios
It is 18th seed Grigor Dimitrov next up for Dominic Thiem, who says: "I will just try to get a good rest. It's always nice to play a good shot-maker so I'm looking forward to that."
Thiem 4-6 4-6 6-3 6-4 6-4 Kyrgios
Dominic Thiem, who beat Nick Kyrgios in five sets to move into the last 16, said: "Playing against Nick in this court, his favourite court, is one of the toughest things we have to do. He is a huge player when he is on fire.
"I was dealing with the loss but then fighting myself. Giving up is not an option. When I got the break in the third set I realised there was a chance to turn it around and the longer the match got the more comfortable I felt.
"I went far back from his serves as you can't read them.
"I always prefer playing in front of a crowd, even if they are not for me and obviously they are for the local hero and there's nothing wrong with that - I have to accept it.
"But I prefer it that way more than playing in front of an empty stadium. The next match will be empty and everyone is sad about that but this was a good last match before lockdown."

Deletsu D. Selase: I wonder how umpires react when they realise they are officiating a @NickKyrgios, external match. Whatever you think of him, he's absolutely fun to watch! Better luck next time.
Paul Hlferty: Gutted for Nick. Could have easily won that in three.
Chris: What. A. Match.
Thiem 4-6 4-6 6-3 6-4 6-4 Kyrgios
