That's just what Norrie needed. A service hold to love, including an ace, and it will be nice for him to not be sweating for once.

Nadal has not lost more than four games in a set so far in this tournament, so this has been a very impressive effort from Norrie and a good recovery after being broken immediately back not too long ago.

A couple of smashed winners from Nadal and normal service is resumed on his serve after he had been broken last time around.

Now, can Norrie have a routine service game? He got broken in game six and had to wave off break points in games four and two.

Well, it was fun while it lasted.

Nadal gets an instant break back as Norrie can only send a forehand halfway up the net and we're very, very quickly back on serve.

Rafael Nadal is not too pleased at being broken and is looking to get it back level instantly. He now has three break back points immediately.

Some good work from Norrie on the baseline keeps a lengthy rally going, Nadal hits the tape with a forehand and Norrie, who has had to save two break points, takes his first chance.

That's another beautiful point. Norrie hasn't given Nadal any angle and then he's jumped on the forehand.

A half-chance here for Cameron Norrie. 15-30. He had only won one point off the Nadal serve in his first two games.

For the second time in two service games, Cameron Norrie has to save a break point before holding on to his serve. He won't want to keep giving Nadal chances though.

A double fault, at a really bad time, gives Nadal his second break point of the match. He couldn't take the first one in the previous service game...

Cameron Norrie had to fight back from 0-30 down in his first service game and is going to have to do the same again in the second as an unforced error sees him falter on the forehand.

Karolina Muchova will play 18th seed Elise Mertens of Belgium, who breezed past Swiss 11th seed Belinda Bencic 6-2 6-1, for a place in the quarter-finals.

Fifth seed Elina Svitolina advanced to the second week with a 6-4 6-0 win over Yulia Putintseva of Kazakhstan.

Ukranian Svitolina will play Jessica Pegula as the American stopped France's Kristina Mladenovic 6-2 6-1.

Donna Vekic saved match point and overturned a 3-0 third-set deficit to beat dangerous Estonian Kaia Kanepi. Kanepi had ended Sofia Kenin's title defence in the second round and Croatia's Vekic had to dig deep to win 5-7 7-6 (7-2) 6-4.

She will play American Jennifer Brady, who continued her good form with a 6-1 6-3 win over Slovenian qualifier Kaja Juvan.

World number one Ashleigh Barty advanced to the fourth round with victory over Ekaterina Alexandrova.

Home favourite Barty came out on top in a staccato match, beating the Russian 6-2 6-4. Barty lost the first two games of the first set before winning six in a row to close out the opener.

She again went a break down in the second, with Alexandrova finding her range after treatment on her abdomen, but Barty upped her level to win the final four games.

She will play Shelby Rogers for a spot in the quarter-finals after the American beat Estonian 21st seed Anett Kontaveit 6-4 6-3.

Karolina Pliskova smashed two racquets and argued with the umpire in her 7-5 7-5 third-round loss to Karolina Muchova at the Australian Open.

The Czech sixth seed was given a code violation when she destroyed her racquet after losing the first set. She then walked into the players' tunnel and broke another racquet before being reported by an official.

"It's off court, I'm allowed to do what I want," Pliskova argued after being docked a point for a second violation.

Chair umpire Alison Hughes told Pliskova that she was not allowed to destroy any equipment during a match.

The incident seemed to fire up Pliskova's game as the former world number one then raced into a 5-0 lead in the second set before losing seven games in a row to see her bid for a maiden Grand Slam title come to an end.

International Tennis Federation (ITF) rules state players are not allowed to "violently or with anger hit, kick or throw a racquet or other equipment within the precincts of the tournament site".

The Nadal forehand is already looking a huge danger, just as you would expect. Norrie gets his first point off the Nadal serve when the Spaniard volleys long at the net, but it's still a hold to 15.

This will do Norrie a world of good and a massive confidence boost as he holds on to his serve in his first service game. He had to fight hard and fend off a break point, but he denies Nadal an early break.
