I was so sad to see the two Brits against each other, Dan Evans and Cam Norrie [in the first round], as I love the way they both play. They are not frightened about coming to the net and maximising their game.

I understand the courts are playing faster this year and with the lefty serve of Cam Norrie, he can utilise his serve, that backhand slice if he plays it in low.

Rafa is the king of defence and falls behind the baseline. Whether Cam can play short and low, he can't be frightened to come to the net but he will have to tough it out.

You have to be ready to expend time and energy and go through pain to beat Rafa and I would say if he can get a set off him that that would be a huge plus for Cam Norrie.

Britain's Cameron Norrie is set to play 20-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal in the third round of the Australian Open, but will have to do so with no fans in attendance.

World number 69 Norrie is in the third round of a Grand Slam for only the second time after doing so at last year's US Open.

"I've never played him before so it'll be a great experience," Norrie said. "I just have to go after it and enjoy every minute. He's such a legend of the game, but on Saturday, just another player.

"He's a human being. Just go out there and give it to him and see what happens."

  7. One Brit remainingpublished at 09:31 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2021

The fans, sadly, will not be present on day six of the Australian Open, but the action does not stop.

And this could just be the best day in the career of Cameron Norrie, the last remaining Briton in either the men's or women's singles events.

But it doesn't get much tougher than a match against 20-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal.
