*Murray 4-4 Duckworth
There's "ooohs" from the crowd as Duckworth slips. He adjusts well and manages to return but Murray takes up a strong position and makes sure there's nothing his opponent can do at the next attempt.
It is 30-30 and there's a hint of an opportunity for another break for Murray but in the end Duckworth holds well.

The fire in the belly never dies for Andy Murray.
The spring in the step is also here.
Questions were raised about his fitness all week and answered with more than a hint of doubt last Monday.
The outlook improved as the week wore on and he certainly doesn't seem to be showing any discomfort from the abdominal injury which left him unable to serve until five or six days ago.

We're keeping a keen eye on him, but Andy Murray, to use modern parlance, has been trending in the right direction.
Murray 4-3 Duckworth*
A little fist pump from Murray as he takes the next game, his serve at 40-30 having too much power for Duckworth, who was shaking his head at one point after making some needless errors.
Murray leads 4-3

News of a notable withdrawal in the men's singles... Marin Cilic.
The Croatian 14th seed, who was the 2017 runner-up at the All England Club, has pulled out of the tournament because of still being ill with Covid-19.
He has been replaced by lucky loser Nuno Borges, who will be a very happy man.
Another happy man will be Rafael Nadal. The Spanish second seed, who has won Wimbledon twice, was projected to face Cilic in round four.
Clarke 2-1 Harrison*
Jay Clarke is the last British man in action on the first day at SW19.
He's taking on American qualifier Christian Harrison on Court 18, which you can watch here.

*Murray 3-3 Duckworth
Murray rolls back the years with a shot that fizzes across the court, giving Duckworth no chance.
It is tight, though, and Duckworth takes a big gulp of breath and refocuses before hitting a thumping serve that Murray returns into the net to take the game on serve.
Kerber v Mladenovic
The roof is open on Court One, where 2018 champion Angelique Kerber is about to get her campaign under way.
Kerber, a semi-finalist last year, is facing Kristina Mladenovic, a former world number 10 who recently won the French Open doubles title alongside Caroline Garcia.

About 20 minutes in and we've just heard our first rendition of 'Let's go, Andy, let's go".
Thankfully, and surprisingly, no shouts yet of 'Come on Tim'...
Murray 3-2 Duckworth*

There has been much 'Andy Murray-ness' - waggling his racquet and chattering to the box.
He's warming to the task now.
Murray 3-2 Duckworth*
And Murray then holds to love to cap an excellent couple of games for the former world number one. He looks to be getting into his stride after a somewhat shaky start.
Sinner 7-5 Wawrinka
Jannik Sinner, the 10th seed from Italy, has taken the opening set in his match against three-time Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka over on Court Two.
*Murray 2-2 Duckworth
Perfect response by Murray as he immediately gets back on level terms!
There's a couple of grimaces of frustration from Duckworth as, after playing so well in the previous game, he needlessly put two returns into the net before he is far too cute with a drop shot at 30-40 down and Murray takes the game.
Alcaraz 4-6 7-5 4-6 7-6 (7-3) 6-4 Struff
Harry Poole
BBC Sport at Wimbledon
"Pretty good," is Carlos Alcaraz's reflection of that one.
Phew. He comes through his opening-round test against German Jan-Lennard Struff in five sets and credits his win today to his serving.
It's only the third match of his career at Wimbledon - but he's already a huge fan favourite here.
Murray 1-2 Duckworth*

That's what they've been talking about with Murray this season., there's a bit more pop on his serve and a bit more movement as well, but a frustrated cry from Murray.
We're also seeing beautiful variety from Duckworth - he mixes things up very well.
Murray 1-2 Duckworth*
Duckworth has lost any early nerves he may have had and is playing some good stuff now, mixing up his shots to stretch Murray on the court. The Australian takes the first break of the match to love.

Perhaps get settled in for the night, because we all know what Andy Murray's matches at Wimbledon are often like.
Emotional rollercoasters which have more twists and turns than tonight's episode of Eastenders.
Last year, Murray started his first-round match on Centre Court against Georgia's Nikoloz Basilashivili slightly earlier at about 6:20pm.
After missing two match points, a brief wobble and a break to stick on the floodlights, he eventually won a thrilling four-setter at just before 10pm.
Maybe set the recording box going for the Albert Square action.
