    Murray 1-1 Duckworth*

Murray is showing good movement around the court in these early stages and after Duckworth starts this game with an ace, Murray gets up to the net to put a delicate drop shot just over.

A shot down the line by Murray goes wide at deuce and he then can't keep his return at the other side of the court in as Duckworth takes his first game of the match.

  2. Sinner v Wawrinka back on servepublished at 18:51 British Summer Time 27 June 2022

    Sinner 5-4 Wawrinka*

Three-time Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka was broken by Jannik Sinner but the 10th seed from Italy could not capitalise as he was then broken himself when serving for the first set.

That means it's back on serve at 5-4 in the opening set in the match on Court Two.

    *Murray 1-0 Duckworth

A big applause as the first point of the game goes Andy Murray's way, James Duckworth sending his return long, although not by much.

A wild swing then puts Murray 30-0 but Duckworth responds well with some decent shots out of Murray's reach to get to 30-30.

The Australian looks to be settling nicely but fails to get a couple of drop shots over the net and Murray takes the opening game.

Nothing the British love more than an all-dayer in the sun... and that's what they're getting now on Centre Court today.

One bloke towards the back of the stand certainly sounds like he's had a few, judging by his attempts at getting an Andy Murray song going.

His out-of-tune efforts are not catching on.

On your own, on your own...

The Mexican waves have started on Court One!

Carlos Alcaraz has dug in and the Spanish teenager is now just a game away from turning things around here.

A potentially decisive first break of the final set falls his way - and leaves him serving for a place in round two after over four hours of this epic battle with Jan-Lennard Struff.

Anyone over at Court One today has been served up a treat - arguably the match of the day where Jan-Lennard Struff and Carlos Alcaraz are still going at it.

Hearing reports of a Mexican wave breaking out over there, however. Concerning if true.

We've had outbreaks of rain and moody looking clouds over Wimbledon today but a wide shot of the All England Club shows plenty of blue skies above now.

It is a very pleasant evening as James Duckworth and Andy Murray warm up.

Here comes James Duckworth and Andy Murray and Centre Court stands to its feet to applaud.

"Go on Murray!" - a couple of shouts of encouragement from the home fans.

It is hard to read Murray's face beyond looking completely focused on the task ahead.

  11. 'Raducanu was working hard mentally'published at 18:32 British Summer Time 27 June 2022

    John McEnroe
Three-time Wimbledon singles champion on BBC TV

A tricky opponent and Emma Raducanu competed hard - that's the best part. She looked healthy which is good and mentally she seemed like she was working hard. I think that's what got her over the finish line. Both sets could've gone either way there.

But that's a good win for her.

  12. Murray up soonpublished at 18:31 British Summer Time 27 June 2022

Emma Raducanu is through, can Andy Murray follow suit? He's up on Centre Court in the next few minutes against unseeded Australian James Duckworth.

Two-time Wimbledon champion Murray has struggled with an abdominal injury in the lead up to the tournament but looked in decent shape in practice with fellow Briton Dan Evans on Friday.

Fingers crossed for no flare up today.

GB's Miyazaki falls to narrow defeatpublished at 18:27 British Summer Time 27 June 2022

    Garcia 4-6 6-1 7-6 (10-4) Miyazaki

It's all over for Yuriko Miyazaki.

France's Caroline Garcia, a former world number four who reached the fourth round here in 2017, put in a strong tie-break performance to end Miyazaki's bid.

Garcia will face another Briton, in the shape of Emma Raducanu, next.

  15. 'So happy to stay another day' - Raducanupublished at 18:26 British Summer Time 27 June 2022

    Van Uytvanck 4-6 4-6 Raducanu

Emma Raducanu spoke on Centre Court, then signed a few autographs and posed for a selfie or two before heading back after a job well done.

"It's an incredibly special feeling to be back at Wimbledon," she said.

"I felt the support the minute I walked out and walking around the grounds. I want to say thank you to everyone who has been here supporting, through the tough times as well, it's all worth it to play on Centre Court and come through with a win.

"I know Alison [van Uytvanck] is a tricky opponent, she has had some great results on grass and I played her last summer and it's really tricky to neutralise that hard serve, she hits the ball really hard.

"I'm extremely pleased to have come through that match and I'm looking forward to coming out and hopefully playing in front of you guys again.

"I've been feeling it [the support] since stepping onto the practice courts, I feel people behind me saying 'Emma, you've got this!' and it makes me think 'yes, I've got this!' It's amazing to walk on these grounds and courts so I'm just so happy to stay another day."

You know it was a good point when people in the crowd have their hands on their heads...

Carlos Alcaraz can certainly do that to you. In fairness, though, brilliant chasing from both players contributed to this moment.

But it was the Spaniard who put away the winner on the run and had people leaping out of their seats...

    Van Uytvanck 4-6 4-6 Raducanu

    Tracy Austin
Two-time Grand Slam champion on BBC TV

Three weeks ago Emma Raducanu pulled out of a grass-court tournament with injury so there's been so many question marks leading up to this moment.

Alison van Uytvanck really pushed her and the joy was very apparent from Raducanu, some relief there that she has the first victory under her belt. Her first time playing on Centre Court and she's got the win.

    Laura Robson
Former British number one on BBC Radio 5 Live

This has been a phenomenal match from Raducanu, who really hadn't played much coming into this.

I am just loving this reaction - to see Emma loving moments like this.

It was not always the best performance but she was consistently getting her feet around the ball. It is tough to come out and play on Centre Court for the first time.

  20. Three-time Grand Slam winner Wawrinka in actionpublished at 18:20 British Summer Time 27 June 2022

    *Sinner 1-1 Wawrinka

Stan Wawrinka is back in action at Wimbledon after missing last year's tournament because of a foot injury, which kept him out of the sport for 12 months and needed two bouts of surgery to fix.

As a result, the 37-year-old Swiss player, a three-time Grand Slam winner, is down at 267th in the world rankings and was handed a wild card to compete at Wimbledon.

He is up against Italy's Jannik Sinner, the 10th seed, with that match taking place on court two.
