That was considered the toughest possible first-round opponent Emma Raducanu could have had.
Alison Van Uytvanck has enjoyed considerable success on grass in recent weeks. Add onto that the fact that Raducanu hadn't played much on the surface because of a side injury - it's so impressive from the 19-year-old.
She's thanking the crowd now, we'll bring you her full post-match interview ASAP.

Huge smile from Emma Raducanu.
And she follows it up with a sort of skippy, spinny celebration as she waves at the crowd.
The Brit came to the net for a drop-shot. Alison van Uytvanck was good for that one, but had no chance when Raducanu batted a cross-court backhand in return.
Such a composed performance from the teenager to open her Wimbledon campaign.

Ooft.
That looked so close to clipping the line. But Emma Raducanu doesn't want to challenge as her backhand is called wide.
Still two match points to go.

That's in the net from Van Uytvanck!

All good so far.

Emma Raducanu takes some deep breaths in her chair.
The teenager has looked so calm considering its her first outing on Centre Court.
The crowd whistle, cheer and get out of their seats as she returns to the baseline.

Nerves from Van Uytvanck?
Her first serve is way long and the second comes closer, but still lands out.
Emma Raducanu will serve for the match.

Raducanu eats Van Uytvanck second serves for breakfast.
Her return is so powerful, the Belgian hoists a backhand into the sky.

The first shouts of "Come on Emma" emerge from the crowd as Raducanu goes 15-0 up on Van Uytvanck's serve.

The roars that we've heard from Emma this game have been huge. Getting everyone in her box and the crowd involved which is something she did so well here last year and at the US Open.
The rain has played a touch of havoc with the schedule, which has led to a number of matches being postponed.
Britain's Ryan Peniston and Katie Swan have had their respective matches against Henri Laaksonen and Marta Kostyuk cancelled for the day.
Fifth seed Maria Sakkari and former semi-finalist Jelena Ostapenko will also have to come back tomorrow for their openers.

There's been plenty of cat and mouse out here this evening.
But that is a big, big hold.
*Van Uytvanck 4-6 4-4 Raducanu
That was a gutsy one.
Alison van Uytvanck threw a few spanners in the works but Emma Raducanu stays strong and holds as the Belgian's return goes long.
Van Uytvanck 4-6 4-3 Raducanu*
"Come oooon!"
That's the biggest shout of the day from Emma Raducanu. Straight out of the Andy Murray school of self-praise.
An ace down the middle brings up 30-30. Going 5-3 down in the second set would not be comfortable and the Brit knows that.
Van Uytvanck 4-6 4-3 Raducanu*
Lovely from Raducanu at the net. She comes forward and pops over a drop-shot.
Van Uytvanck manages to get there and the crowd holds its breath as her shot thinks about landing in. It doesn't, though. 15-15.

A booming forehand from the racquet of Carlos Alcaraz reverberates around the arena. Four points on the bounce from the Spaniard seals the fourth set!
What a way to keep your tournament alive. But he was never going to go easily, was he?
Decider incoming...
Van Uytvanck 4-6 4-3 Raducanu*
Emma Raducanu was struggling with a side injury just before Wimbledon.
She's been looking fine so far today but surely wouldn't want to open her tournament with a three-setter.
Here's hoping the teenager can close this one out.

You can see that Emma Raducanu is starting to walk a little bit slower between points.
She needs to shorten her points, try to get it finished in two sets.

Unfortunately Raducanu hasn't got any more shots like that for this game.
Van Uytvanck whips a forehand on the angle to claim her hold.
