More ‘discussions’ between Nick Kyrgios and the umpire at the change of ends, I think over one or two line calls.

The Australian returns to the court and looks on course for a swift hold at 40-0, eventually bringing us level at 3-3 three points - and a groan - later.

    *Swiatek 2-0 Fett

    Caroline Wozniacki
Former world number one on BBC TV

Swiatek has been moving extremely well - she can run a lot of balls down and she's very aggressive on that forehand side, and she's improved her serve.

There's really no holes in her game and mentally she's been so strong.

  5. Break point Swiatekpublished at 13:46 British Summer Time 28 June 2022

    Swiatek 1-0 Fett*

That's a double fault from Jana Fett to hand Iga Swiatek an early break point...

  6. Postpublished at 13:46 British Summer Time 28 June 2022

    *Gauff 2-4 Ruse

Ruse bags herself two break points in the fifth game and converts the second one as Gauff sends a weak forehand into the net.

The Romanian then backs it up with a hold to 15.

Gauff looks a little ragged out there. There's a lot of pressure on the 18-year-old - and it's showing so far.

  7. Deuce on Fett servepublished at 13:45 British Summer Time 28 June 2022

    Swiatek 1-0 Fett*

Gosh, that's a good return from Swiatek, forcing Fett to dart forward, but the qualifier recovers well to take charge of the rally and draw the error out of the top seed's forehand.

Fett double faults for 40-30 and thn Swiatek steps in and out-muscles her to force deuce.

    Jubb 6-3 1-6 3-2 Kyrgios*

Paul Jubb was staring at a bit of trouble when 0-30 down on his serve, but wins out a superb rally and then produces a lovely, delicate drop shot to clinch the game.

  9. Breezy on Centre Courtpublished at 13:41 British Summer Time 28 June 2022

    Swiatek 1-0 Fett*

    Sonia Oxley

The good news is it's not raining, but it is rather blustery on Centre Court. A few people checking their hats are still where they thought they were.

  10. Swiatek holdspublished at 13:41 British Summer Time 28 June 2022

    Swiatek 1-0 Fett*

A long backhand hands Jana Fett the first point of the match, before Iga Swiatek volleys her way onto the board.

A mammoth forehand from Swiatek takes her to game point and she whips a backhand through Fett's defences to notch her first game of the Championships.

    *Jubb 6-3 1-6 2-2 Kyrgios

A hold to 15 from Kyrgios, wrapped up with a brilliant ace - his 10th of the match - makes it 2-2 in the third.

  13. Gauff breaks backpublished at 13:39 British Summer Time 28 June 2022

    *Gauff 2-2 Ruse

The French Open finalist gets herself on the board with a gutsy hold of serve, but she doesn't look overly enamoured with her efforts so far.

Gauff has the opportunity to hit back at Ruse in the next game, too, and she does at the sixth time of asking!

Ruse's backhand is wide and Gauff converts her first break point of the match at the eighth attempt.

    Jubb 6-3 1-6 2-1 Kyrgios*

The always-entertaining Nick Kyrgios is a former quarter-finalist, reaching the last eight in his first appearance at Wimbledon in 2014.

He has only gone out in the first round here once before when he had to withdraw through injury after two sets against Pierre-Hugues Herbert in 2017.

Today, we're still on serve after three games of the third set.

    Swiatek v Fett

Iga Swiatek's first-round opponent is Croatian qualifier Jana Fett.

The world number 97 has only appeared in the Wimbledon main draw once before, back in 2018, where she lost in the first round.

She did, however, come close to a stunning victory at the Australian Open four years ago, when she held two match points against second seed Caroline Wozniacki.

Fett led the final set 5-1 before Wozniacki launched a stunnng comeback - and would eventually go on to win her first Grand Slam title.

    Swiatek v Fett

Iga Swiatek's best performance at Wimbledon came last year, where she reached the fourth round before losing to Ons Jabeur.

She is, however, a former junior champion at SW19, having lifted the girls title in 2018.

Swiatek withdrew from the grass-court tournament in Berlin in the build-up to Wimbledon with a shoulder issue but, injured or not, she is still the overwhelming favourite for the title here.

    Jubb 6-3 1-6 1-0 Kyrgios*

After losing the second set 6-1, Paul Jubb, 219th in the world and in only his second singles match at Wimbledon, does well to begin the third set with a confidence-building hold to 15.

    Swiatek v Fett

Iga Swiatek is on a, frankly, ridiculous winning streak.

She has won 35 matches in a row, tying Venus Williams' Open Era record, and has won six titles this year alone.

That includes last month's French Open, where she blazed past all who stood before her to win her second major title.
