The challenges are arriving quicker than red double-deckers at Piccadilly Circus.

"Who called it?!" asks Liam Broady after some confusion over whether a De Minaur serve was in or not.

None of the line judges 'fess up. Nobody really knows what is going on.

Eventually chair umpire Fergus Murphy takes control of the situation, says it was called out and De Minaur successfully challenges.

There's another rogue call in the next point. Broady can only laugh as the line judge, presumably with stomach churning, remains stoney-faced.

Good to see the Brit is still enjoying the occasion even if the scoreboard is not in his favour.

    Gauff 7-6 (7-4) Anisimova*

    Alan Jewell

That tie-break appeared to be on Amanda Anisimova's racquet at 4-1 up with two serves to come. At 5-4 down, she slices wide right from on top of the net and stops over it to consider how she missed with Gauff helpless. A forehand into the net later and it's six points on the spin for Gauff and the first set in the bag.

    De Minaur 6-3 6-4 3-1 Broady*

Another big "Let's go" from Broady as he clambers to 15-30 but.... oh no! ... he misjudges a floating lob by De Minaur and can only top-edge it into the net when it should have been put away.

At 30-30 it is the line judge who has the shocker on the next couple of De Minaur serves, wrongly calling them out... and both are correctly challenged by the Australian.

Broady senses his chance and goes for his next return, bringing up another break point... but again De Minaur is rock solid when it matters. As his name suggests, he is very good at digging himself out of a hole...

  4. Game and first set - Gauffpublished at 14:44 British Summer Time 2 July 2022

    Gauff 7-6 (7-4) Anisimova

Coco Gauff takes the first set in the battle of the two young Americans on Centre Court.

Amanda Anisimova, who made 25 unforced errors in that set, will find losing that set hard to take.

She was 4-3 and a break of serve up after the seventh game, having fought back from 3-0 down, and then led 4-1 in the tie-break, but it's the 11th seed 18-year-old that moves a set ahead.

    Gauff 6-6 Anisimova

Just as the first set has swung one way then the other, so too is the tie-break doing so. Coco Gauff was 4-1 down in the tie-break, now she's 5-4 ahead.

    Women's doubles

Heather Watson is on a roll.

She is victorious again - this time alongside British compatriot Harriet Dart in their women's doubles match against Natela Dzalamidze and Aleksandra Krunic to reach the last 16,

Watson, who is through to the fourth round in the singles for the first time and has played every day of these Championships, continues her hectic schedule later with Ken Skupski in the mixed doubles.

Ahhhhh! The cutest call of 'Come on Liam' comes from a young voice behind the media seats, leaving everyone around cooing.

She still believes Broady can turn this around and judging by the roar of 'Let's GOOOOOOO!' when he holds, he does too.

Liam Broady might not win this match, he might not win this set. But he will go down swinging.

    *De Minaur 6-3 6-4 2-1 Broady

Broady is having to work hard for every single point at the moment - De Minaur is so difficult to break down, and then throws himself into his big shots when the opportunity arises.

His persistence is enough for Broady to wobble, slipping from 40-0 to deuce, but he keeps his cool to hammer down a couple of big serves down the T - and yells "let's go" to celebrate a hard-earned hold.

    Gauff 6-6 Anisimova

We're into a tie-break in the opening set on Centre Court following a hold to love from Amanda Anisimova. Gauff won the first three games of the match, Anisimova took the next four and was a break up, but it's now 6-6 and tie-break time.

Again British hopes are raised and again the Aussie dashes them.

Decibels increase as, after one hour and 23 minutes, Liam Broady finally earns his first break point of the match.

But De Minaur lands a hefty first serve and then uses his speed again to reach a net cord which he again had not right to reach.

An ace flies down before the shank from Broady leaves Court One deflated again.

  13. 'A difficult one to take'published at 14:35 British Summer Time 2 July 2022

    Tan 6-1 6-1 Boulter

Katie Boulter spoke to the media after her swift loss earlier today to Harmony Tan, admitting it was a "difficult one to take".

"I may have seen it coming a little. I started to reach my emotional and physical point where I was struggling a bit this morning in the warm-up.

"It's a step forward in the right direction and I have nothing but positive vibes coming into this week and moving forward for the next few tournaments."

    De Minaur 6-3 6-4 2-0 Broady*

It's taken this long, but Broady has a break point. I told you not to write him off...

He can't quite convert, however, as De Minaur's sheer speed rescues him off a net cord and Broady sees his follow-up lob land about two inches long.

That's as close as Broady gets to a break, because two big De Minaur serves see him hold - again.

  15. Broady broken againpublished at 14:28 British Summer Time 2 July 2022

    *De Minaur 6-3 6-4 1-0 Broady

Oh dear... The Broady comeback does not start here. Instead he is broken... and it's an even longer way back for him from here.

A double-fault leaves the Brit at 0-40 and although he battles on to save the first two break points, he sends a smash long at 30-40, bringing groans from the crowd.

    Gauff 5-4 Anisimova*

    Alan Jewell
    BBC Sport at Wimbledon

Now Coco Gauff is really annoyed, the double slap on her thigh very audible as a third double fault offers Amanda Anisimova a break point. But the danger is quickly averted and the 20th seed now has to hold serve - which has been problematic for both players - to stay in the set.

  17. Gauff saves break point to move one game away from first setpublished at 14:27 British Summer Time 2 July 2022

    Gauff 5-4 Anisimova*

That's a great hold from Coco Gauff, who fends off a break point to move one game away from the opening set.

A superbly disguised drop shot takes her to game point, with a strong serve sealing it.

    *Gauff 4-4 Anisimova

    Alan Jewell
    BBC Sport at Wimbledon

Gauff taps her head twice with the racquet after she completely mistimes a return on break point, the ball floating towards the net but barely reaching it. But an Anisimova error levels it up again. The breeze is getting up on Centre Court, which is perhaps having an effect on both players.

    De Minaur 6-3 6-4 0-0 Broady*

"It's a long way back for Broady now," says John McEnroe - and, given the way this match has gone, it certainly seems like it.

Let's not forget that Broady has come through two five-setters to reach this stage, so let's not write him off just yet...

  20. Gauff breaks backpublished at 14:22 British Summer Time 2 July 2022

    *Gauff 4-4 Anisimova

The momentum on Centre Court has swung again. Gauff won the first three games, Anisimova the next four, but Gauff, after missing one break-point chance, gets us back on serve by taking her next opportunity.
