Don't miss Tennis Breakfast on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra tomorrow from 07:00 GMT, followed by live-text coverage of Naomi Osaka's second-round match against Madison Brengle.

What a day it has been for Andy Murray, who thought he would have to retire from tennis after this tournament three years ago but today won a five-set thriller to beat 21st seed Nikoloz Basilashvili.

And Emma Raducanu was among those celebrating too in her first Grand Slam match since winning the US Open title as she eliminated former world number three Sloane Stephens.

Here's a quick look at the main stories from today...

Britain's Emma Raducanu in her on-court interview says: "I just want to thank everyone for coming out and staying so late, I really appreciate it.

"Both me and Sloane really put everything out there and it was a very high-quality match. I'm very happy to come through against such a great champion.

"It was a tough match-up for a first round, I knew there was going to be some very long rallies and I was having to work extremely hard for my points.

"Coming out for the first set I played some good tennis. Of course there was going to be some adversity but happy to have regrouped in the third set.

"I don't think the score reflected what happened in the third set."

Raducanu is very emotional but at the age of 19, every Grand Slam win is a pretty big deal. She's taken to a deciding set by a former US Open champion and her answer is to win that by 6-1.

Stephens can only flick it into the net at short range from a tight angle and Raducanu is delighted at the victory.

Team Raducanu has a new member.

A little lad - aged about eight, I'd guess - keeps wandering down a few rows and plonks himself next to Raducanu's coach Torben Beltz.

In his hand is a homemade sign of red block letters, reading 'Let's Go Emma!
