    Murray 5-1 Basilashvili*

At the minute, all Andy Murray has to do is put the ball into court and wait for the error to come from his opponent.

A delicious drop shot wraps up another speedy hold from the Brit and, after barely half an hour, Nikoloz Basilashvili will serve to stay in the set.

    Murray 3-1 Basilashvili*

The unforced errors are flying off Basilashvili's racquet, although he strings together a couple of powerful forehands to outmuscle Murray.

Murray, however, merely whacks down consecutive aces from 30-30 to back up his early break.

    *Watson 1-0 Sherif

There's double Brit action this morning - Heather Watson has just got going against Mayar Sherif out on court eight.

It is nine years since Watson made a run to the third round of the Australian Open, while Sherif made history last year as the first Egyptian woman to win an Grand Slam main draw match.

Watson's qualifying wins in Adelaide snapped a seven match losing streak dating back to Cincinnati last year, but it is main draw wins that count.

And in fact, Watson has just broken Sherif to start the match.

    * Murray 2-1 Basilashvili

    Chanda Rubin
American former world number six on BBC Radio 5 Live

Very clean, disciplined hitting from Murray, keeping Basilashvili in the space he wants him to be in, and controlling the tempo of these points.

It looks like he has a bit of a strategy.

    My word.

To describe this shank from Nikolaz Bashilashvili would be an affront to the word shank. He gets a second serve all sorts of wrong, the ball flying off the frame and missing the court entirely. Ouch.

    0-15.

Murray is a champion and the reason he is a champion and has been a champion is evident in how he has handled his comeback.

Guess who's in that part of the draw? Andy Murray. Ruud was a prospective last-16 opponent.

Bad news for you British tennis fans waking up super early back home. We've lost another one while you were sleeping.

Qualifier Harriet Dart was unable to maintain a strong start as she lost in the Australian Open first round to seventh seed Iga Swiatek.

Dart, 25, broke for a 2-1 lead in the first set as she settled quickly and hurt Swiatek with some classy winners.

But Poland's Swiatek, 20, found her rhythm, winning five games in a row to turn the match in her favour.

The 2020 French Open champion continued her high level in a one-sided second set to wrap up a 6-3 6-0 victory.
