A tricky game for Jordan Thompson, but after almost eight minutes he's able to get himself across the line and edge back in front in the third set.
*Evans 7-6 (7-3) 6-4 2-0 Cerundolo
Dan Evans is cruising towards that elusive first French Open win now!
He breaks Francisco Cerundolo to take control of the third set and cements his advantage by holding serve, saving two break points in the process.
Evans is looking good for a straight-sets victory and it's nothing more than he deserves - he's played some lovely tennis this afternoon.
Watson 3-4 Jacquemot *
When Heather Watson comes marching up to the net with purpose, she is putting away her volleys most times leaving Elsa Jacquemot stranded.
But she is having to really work hard just to get these points - and finally she is rewarded with her first hold of the match!
Norrie 7-5 6-2 6-0 Guinard
Cameron Norrie, speaking on court: "It was a battle, the first set, and I just had to hang in there. He played great and held his intensity. I was able to match that and steal a break then serve it out.
"It's so nice to get my first win here this year. It's my first time playing on this court, it's so special and a great atmosphere, especially playing against a French player. There's definitely some Brits in the crowd, too, so it was good stuff.
"I have to be really patient with the clay. When I'm playing really, really well I can love it and then when I'm not I have moments where I don't like it so much.
"It feels really good to win today."
*Thompson 2-6 2-6 1-1 Nadal
Back over to you, says Rafael Nadal, as a love hold brings the Spaniard level at 1-1 in the third set. Jordan Thompson is starting to look a little deflated. He wouldn't be the first to feel that way against Nadal, of course.
Norrie 7-5 6-2 6-0 Guinard
Up next for Cam Norrie is Australian qualifier Jason Kubler.
Norrie 7-5 6-2 6-0 Guinard
Cameron Norrie is the first Briton into the second round!
He dinks away a volley at the net before turning to shake his first towards his box in celebration.
*Norrie 7-5 6-2 5-0 Guinard
Into the net goes Guinard's backhand.
Three match points to Norrie!
*Norrie 7-5 6-2 5-0 Guinard
Norrie leaps and smashes his way to 30-0.
*Norrie 7-5 6-2 5-0 Guinard
A big serve first up, and Guinard nets.
15-0.
*Norrie 7-5 6-2 5-0 Guinard
A break point to Cameron Norrie as Manuel Guinard drifts long.
And he's passed at the net! Guinard showed a lot of fight in that game but it'll be Norrie to serve for the match in a few moment's time.
Norrie 7-5 6-2 4-0 Guinard*
Game point to Guinard once again...
...And a cracking forehand winner from Norrie!
Norrie 7-5 6-2 4-0 Guinard*
What a shot that is!
Cameron Norrie does so well to chase down a Manuel Guinard drop shot and then just send a teasing, drifting backhand past his opponent at the net for deuce.
Watson 1-4 Jacquemot *
Naomi Cavaday
BBC Sport tennis commentator
Watson is struggling a little bit with the Jacquemot drop-shots - she hasnt been enjoying that, as the Frenchwoman gets a lot more taping on that already heavily taped thigh.
Watson 1-4 Jacquemot *
That's a bit more like it.
Heather Watson breaks Elsa Jacquemot to get herself on the board -and perhaps quieten the crowd down a little.
When it comes to consolidating though, not so much. Jacquemot keeps piling on the pressure, and breaks once again. Little to show for Watson at the moment.
*Thompson 2-6 2-6 0-0 Nadal
It's all going very much to plan for Rafael Nadal in his French Open curtain-raiser.
The world number five is two sets to the good - despite a slight blip midway through the second set.
Norrie 7-5 6-2 4-0 Guinard*
The French crowd get behind their man as Manuel Guinard tries to get himself on the board in this set.
Cameron Norrie sends a series of forehands into the corners that Guinard, somehow, manages to retrieve, before a smash eventually drifts long.
An underarm serve! Superb stuff. Norrie, meanwhile, is so alive to come charging forward and hammer it away for a winner to go 0-30 up.
A roaring Guinard looks to be headed for a hold before a netted forehand takes us to deuce.
*Evans 7-6 (7-3) 6-4 Cerundolo
There it is!
A comfortable hold of serve and Dan Evans takes the second set against Francisco Cerundolo.
It'll take something fairly spectacular from the Argentine to deny Evans his first main-draw French Open victory on his 32nd birthday.
Norrie 7-5 6-2 4-0 Guinard*
Cameron Norrie is, after a tough start, rolling towards the finish line.
Thompson 2-6 2-5 Nadal*
Ouch. A terrible hit from Jordan Thompson brings Rafael Nadal to deuce, and the Aussie is given a court violation after launching a ball into the sky as Nadal immediately breaks back.
