Wow. Just wow. How often has Rafael Nadal left us speechless?

Nadal saves four set points before taking his sixth with another worldie of a forehand winner.

Someone calls the cops. Alexander Zverev has just been mugged.

Sho: Zverev had to win that set being a break up then having those 4 set points being 6-2 up in the breaker. Combine that with the fact that set lasted an hour and a half. Nadal to win the next two sets comfortably.

The whole crowd jumped on their feet, arms in the air, waving their Spanish flags. Nadal is definitely going to need a full kit change. He looks like he's jumped into the pool.

What a way to finish the set! It was a bit like the tortoise and the hare; Zverev out of the box brilliantly, Nadal out of sorts. But he's taken advantage of some tightness in the German's arm and produced some of his greatest hits in the tie-breaks.

What a set of tennis and the fans are on their feet - and rightly so. Ninety-one minutes of breath-taking action.

Zverev led 4-2 in games, then got pegged back, then led 6-2 in the tie-break with four chances to wrap up the set.

But Nadal, who had previously seen five of his own set points disappear, gambles the right way when Zverev is at the net and unleashes a stunning winner.

Zverev at the net but it's blasted at him and he can't control it. 9-8, Nadal with set point again.

Nadal with a cross-court backhand chance to win the set. No! Just out. 8-8. Nadal has missed five chances to win the set, Zverev four.

Ninety minutes of action in this first set alone.

Zverev two-handed backhand into the net. 8-7 Nadal, set point on his serve.

Zverev is living dangerously. His shot is just about in and Nadal can't keep it in, 7-7. Both men have had four set points in this match.

Brilliant from Nadal down the line, and he then roars at his adoring public. That's five points in a row he's won and from 6-2 and four set points down, Nadal is now 7-6 ahead with set point of his own.

The only reason Nadal is still in this match is because he is Rafael Nadal. He has got no right to still be in it. How is he getting out of these points?!

Nadal, trying to save his fourth set point, sends the first serve into the net, then comes up with a rarely-seen drop shot. Zverev gets to it, Nadal flicks it down the line and Zverev can only push it wide.

Nadal has saved four set points in this tie-break and from 6-2 it's now 6-6. What drama.

A passing shot from the heavens from Nadal. Zverev gets his opponent on his heels, Nadal goes miles right, it then gets sent the other way, but Nadal produces an amazing cross-court winner. 6-5 to Zverev.

Zverev with a volley at the net and with Nadal out wide. There's the set on Zverev's racquet, but he puts too much juice on it and it goes out, 6-4.

Nadal ace and that saves the first of four set points. 6-3.

A chant of 'Rafa, Rafa' fills the stadium but it can't inspire their man. Zverev runs around one to get it on to the forehand and unleashes some brilliance to move to four set points. 6-2.

Zverev, showing immense power, moves to 5-2 and two points away from the first set.

Nadal was 4-2 down in games, now he's 4-2 behind in the tie-break.

Zverev takes control of a forehand battle, Nadal can only send it wide and it's 4-2 to the German.

Nadal at the net and he can only send a volley out after it had came at him at pace, 3-2 to Zverev.
