For me, Nadal is not playing his best out there today. This is the generation of players that grew up watching him, but all too often they play the idol and not the person on the other side of the net.

Rafael Nadal's never down for long. Just when it looked like he might be struggling, he dives into the energy reserves and breaks his opponent's serve.

We're back on serve in the second set and that's got to be dispiriting for Ruud, just after he had done the hard work and got a break, within minutes the advantage vanishes.

A short return from Nadal but it's not put away on the Ruud forehand and that gives Nadal an instant chance of a break back, 30-40.

There is some fabulous hitting from both players - and the crowd are getting in a few 'Ruuuudd' calls.

For both of them this second set is very important but more so for Ruud obviously than Nadal.

His last service game saw Ruud have to defend three break points, but this game's a much-needed easier one and a chance to recharge just a little bit.

A great 13-shot baseline rally and some brilliant accuracy from Ruud's forehand to bounce one off the line. He needs a lot more of that. 30-15.
