    It was a valiant effort from the British team. They were always the underdogs.

    We've just heard Czech captain Petr Pala say how much respect he had for them and knew it wouldn't be as easy as it looked on paper.

    In the end, the experience of the Czech players, Vondrousova in particular and the amount of doubles she plays, carried the Czech Republic through.

    Marketa Vondrousova: "I was a bit nervous at the end but I used to play with Kaja, so I am very happy that we won and I think we enjoyed the doubles today."

    Karolina Muchova: "I was getting ready three times for the doubles. It was a long day - I had to warm up many times - but it wasn't that bad in the end!"

    It was a great effort by the British team, they were always the underdogs down to the incredible strength and depth the Czech Republic have.

    The Czechs were the better team over the two days. Marketa Vondrousova was incredibly good.

    Czech team captain Petr Pala: "We knew it was going to be Marketa and Karolina in the doubles. We were favourites but it was a tough team.

    "The doubles, the girls didn't play many matches together but they felt well together. I think they were the better team from the beginning to the end. It was a tough tie because Harriet Dart played very well today."

    A volley from Karolina Muchova gives the Czech duo game point and, after a brilliant point, it is Muchova who is there to slice the ball over Katie Swan and close out the game.

    Muchova larrups long to give the Brits game point and then Swan picks an excellent time to find an ace.
