    They do the same when they think Gauff has won that incredible point and remain upright to applaud Sabalenka for that beyond-belief fetch.

    Sabalenka is just so insecure at the back of the court. Just so many errors, I am actually astounded.

    A nervy start to the service game for Gauff who begins with a double fault but gets back on track with a couple of decent serves.

    A stunning two hand backhand shot to the back corner of the court for 40-15 has Sabalenka off balance and misfiring into the net.

    I think Sabalenka saw the prize, thought about being the US Open champion and that on Monday she will be the the world number one. She goes up and down, and she got tight.

    Never ceases to amaze how oblivious some of these American spectators are.

    A guy seated low down opposite the umpire, and right in Sabalenka's serving eye-line, decides he can't wait to go for comfort break/hot dog/whatever.

    He still doesn't have a clue what's happening when Eva Asderaki-Moore shames him into sitting down... which he eventually does after a slight panic about what to do as he freezes on the stairs.
