Liam Broady is telling an adoring Centre Court crowd it's been his dream to play here since he was five years old.

He's all smiles, joking that he told his mum not to worry before the game because he'd already won £80,000 this week.

We'll have full reaction from the delighted Briton soon.

Andrew: What happened to Casper Ruud!? Why'd he just crumble like that in the final set? Unbelievable.

He did falter for sure but credit to Liam Broady, who just played sensational tennis.

Broady does sometimes get really animated when he's winning, but this time he is quite subdued and is focussing all of his energy on this last game.

Big serve and cross-court backhand, huge cheer. 15-0.

But a bit too much adrenalin for Liam Broady next point and he goes long 15-15.

  9. Broady breaks, serves for matchpublished at 17:01 British Summer Time 6 July 2023

    *Broady 6-4 3-6 4-6 6-3 5-0 Ruud

    This is madness!

World number 142 Liam Broady absolutely toys with three-time Grand Slam runner-up Casper Ruud like a cat standing on a mouse's tail.

And then he picks the moment to strike with an unerring backhand winner.

He serves for the match and a place in the third round for the second successive year.

Casper Ruud has lost the plot a bit here.

He looks a beaten man, slumping to 0-30 on his own serve.

And goodness me, Liam Broady pumps a second serve back around the net post and into the corner to bring up three more break points.

No nerves there from Broady, none whatsoever. He's played this set so far like he's an experienced player at this level. He's playing against number four seed on Centre Court.

  12. 'The crowd got me over the line'published at 16:58 British Summer Time 6 July 2023

    Tomova 0-6 6-3 3-6 Boulter

Here's what Katie Boulter had to say to BBC TV's Annabel Croft after her three-set win against Viktoriya Tomova: "It definitely wasn’t easy out there, it was a little blustery at times, but I tried to back myself and remind myself to go for it. It paid off today and I’m super happy.

"She’s [Tomova] a top player, I expected her to come back with an even better game in the second set and she def did. I had to get used to it and keep backing myself, making myself as aggressive as possible.

"My serve is getting me out of trouble quite a bit so I’m happy that I keep backing myself to go for it.

"The crowd definitely got me over the line today. I could feel a bit of tension at the end. I loved the atmosphere today."

On a third-round tie with Elina Rybakina or Alize Cornet: “Both players play unbelievable well. One is a defending champ so I’m expecting a seriously tough battle. But I’ve got nothing to lose and I’m looking forward to it.”

Liam Broady displays his growing confidence with a risky drop shot that just catches the edge of the tramline.

An ace seals a hold to love. He was two sets to one down against the world number four - and is now two games away from creating one of the great Wimbledon upsets.

Hmm. Not an ideal start to the second set for Belinda Bencic, broken on a double fault after being worn down by Danielle Collins’ heavy hitting.

Meanwhile, some excellent multi-tasking going on around me. One individual has one eye on the tennis and another on the Ashes live scorecard.

If you can come forward and keep being gutsy and risking it all then it pays off. If you can take the initiative in these situations then it pays off, but it feels risky.

  17. Broady breaks againpublished at 16:54 British Summer Time 6 July 2023

    *Broady 6-4 3-6 4-6 6-3 3-0 Ruud

    Dreamland for Liam Broady.

He has the world number four in the palm of his hand.

Overhead backhand volley at the net catches Ruud out to bring up another break point - and this time he takes it with an emphatic smash!

Centre Court can't quite believe what they are witnessing.

  18. 'Is Boulter prepared to take on a Slam champion?'published at 16:52 British Summer Time 6 July 2023

    Tomova 0-6 6-3 3-6 Boulter

    Jonathan Overend
    BBC Radio 5 Live commentator

That is going to do an awful lot for confidence. People may look at the victories in Nottingham and say 'well they weren't anyone particularly established' and that would be fair comment, but you can only play who is in front of you.

What will be really interesting is if she plays Rybakina, how much of a step up in class will that be.

Is she prepared for it? Is this run of match wins enough to prepare her for a Grand Slam champion.

  19. Postpublished at 16:52 British Summer Time 6 July 2023

    Broady 6-4 3-6 4-6 6-3 2-0 Ruud*

A simply fantastic second serve rescues Casper Ruud and he follows it with an ace.

But Liam Broady disguises a drop shot to take us back to deuce. Turning into a pivotal game, this.

There are 138 places between these players in the world rankings but you really wouldn't know it.

  20. Second break point Broadypublished at 16:50 British Summer Time 6 July 2023

Ruud saves that break point, aided by a first serve that finds chalk but Liam Broady wins a point he had no right to win with a sensational forehand on the run that gets Centre Crowd on its feet.
