    Murray 3-3 Tsitsipas*

That might change, Jonathan, as Tsitsipas sends an ill-advised drop shot into the net - and then when a net cord deflects out soon after, it's 15-30 on the world number five's serve...

Murray makes a scream of desperation when he unsuccessfully lunges for that Tsitsipas ace which rounds off the fifth game.

That sound neatly encapsulates how the receiving games have been going for the Brit

He's only won four receiving points with Tsitsipas landing 75% of his first serves.

The good news? Murray has only dropped three points on his serve.

    Serve rules.

    Murray 3-3 Tsitsipas*

Murray wins a little game of chess at the net to secure a hold to 15 as the status quo remains on Centre Court.

  5. Mannarino hit for sixpublished at 20:10 British Summer Time 6 July 2023

    Medvedev 6-3 3-0 Mannarino*

    Michael Emons
    BBC Sport at Wimbledon

A brilliant rally, with both men testing the other with some power from the baseline, throw in a fortunate net cord for Mannarino and with both players dashing around the ground - what a point.

It ends with Mannarino finally slotting a forehand into the net and Medvedev milks the massive and fully deserved round of applause. That point also gives him a break of serve so he's a set and a break up.

He then storms through the next service game with a comfortable hold. The first six games were shared and really close, the third seed Medvedev has won all of the next six.

Andy Murray's wife Kim, almost a permanent fixture in the players' box, watching on intently.

She sees her husband go 30-0 up on serve, aided by a challenge as a Tsitsipas forehand goes well long but isn't called by the line judge until Murray appeals and the TV replays show he's right.

The men's fourth seed Casper Ruud might have tumbled out of Wimbledon, but there was no such fate for Jessica Pegula.

She coasted past Spain's Cristina Busca in straight sets.

She faces Italy's Elisabetta Cocciaretto in the third round.

  8. Brits hoping for Doubles delightpublished at 20:07 British Summer Time 6 July 2023

There's Brits in action elsewhere this evening, including Andy Murray's brother Jamie.

It is all in the doubles action where Jamie Murray and Michael Venus are up against David Hernández and Albano Olivetti and the former have just taken the first set 6-4.

British pair Julian Cash and Luke Johnson are taking on Argentina duo Andrés Molteni and Máximo González, with Cash and Johnson winning the first set 7-5.

Britain's Johannus Monday and Jacob Fearnley have work to do against Andre Goransson and Ben McLachlan after losing the first set 6-1.

It is not to be for Jodie Burrage and Emily Appleton in the women's doubles after they lost 6-3 6-4 to Kimberley Zimmermann and Yana Sizikova.

  9. Tsitsipas holdspublished at 20:06 British Summer Time 6 July 2023

    *Murray 2-3 Tsitsipas

Ooooosh. Stefanos Tsitsipas completely closes the door with a wicked forehand right on the baseline that Murray does well just to get his racquet to. Still on serve.

    Murray 2-2 Tsitsipas*

Andy Murray unhappy no let cord was given as Tsitsipas bangs down an ace - he's convinced it touched the net on its way.

That was a second successive ace for the Greek - but Murray is making him work for this service game, a lovely cross-court forehand taking us to 40-30.

Interesting how Murray is targeting Tsitsipas's backhand in these service games, particularly on second deliveries.

The Greek's one hander might look like a thing of beauty but it isn't always that functional.

Bit like that gimmicky kitchen utensil you convinced yourself you needed.

  12. 'Tsitsipas has laid an egg in past Wimbledon performances'published at 20:02 British Summer Time 6 July 2023

    Murray 2-2 Tsitsipas*

    John McEnroe
Three-time Wimbledon singles champion on BBC TV

There’s a lot of expectation for Murray so I think that allows Tsitsipas to do his thing.

He’s came here with high hopes in the past and he’s laid an egg. It would be nice to see him play to his potential.

  13. Murray holds to lovepublished at 20:02 British Summer Time 6 July 2023

    Murray 2-2 Tsitsipas*

We asked you pre-match who you fancied - and it's two to one in favour of Andy Murray in terms of your votes.

Murray justifies your faith with an excellent service game, holding to love as Stefanos Tsitsipas could barely get a ball back in play.

  14. Medvedev a set uppublished at 19:59 British Summer Time 6 July 2023

    Medvedev 6-3 1-0 Mannarino*

    Michael Emons
    BBC Sport at Wimbledon

Third seed Daniil Medvedev moves into a one-set lead after gaining the crucial break in game seven against France's Adrian Mannarino.

The opening six games were really close, full of high quality rallies, but since the break of serve Mannarino hasn't won a game, meaning Medvedev also got to serve first in the second set.

It's still providing good evening entertainment though for those who either couldn't get tickets to watch Andy Murray on Centre Court or didn't fancy an evening sitting on the grass of Henman Hill watching on the giant screen.

  15. Easy hold for Tsitsipaspublished at 19:59 British Summer Time 6 July 2023

    *Murray 1-2 Tsitsipas

The Tsitsipas serve looks daunting. But when Murray can return it, there will be openings.

Not many openings here, though - the Greek powers down an ace at 30-15 and then Murray sends a forehand just wide as we stay on serve early doors.

  16. 'Tense start from Murray'published at 19:57 British Summer Time 6 July 2023

    Murray 1-1 Tsitsipas*

    Russell Fuller
Tennis correspondent on BBC Radio 5 Live

A slow and tense start from Andy Murray. He is looking a bit frustrated with his serve already and he is looking the most apprehensive of the two players.

  17. Murray holdspublished at 19:57 British Summer Time 6 July 2023

    Murray 1-1 Tsitsipas*

Andy Murray's already had about three let cords on his first serve. Hasn't bothered him and Tsitsipas is unable to return Murray's subsequent serves from 30-30 as the Brit clinches a reassuring hold from 0-30 down.

  18. 'Tsitsipas will feed off crowd's energy'published at 19:55 British Summer Time 6 July 2023

    *Murray 0-1 Tsitsipas

    Andrew Cotter
    BBC commentator at Wimbledon

Tsitsipas knows he will be up against everyone in here, but he will feed off the energy.

  19. Postpublished at 19:55 British Summer Time 6 July 2023

    *Murray 0-1 Tsitsipas

Good rally from Murray, his best so far, as the three-time Grand Slam champion's approach to the net forces the lobbed error from Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Then a lovely whipped cross-court winner from a pretty average Tsitsipas drop shot, 30-30. This is what Murray needs to do - mix it up. Can't trade baseline shots with the stronger, younger man.
