    *Murray/Venus 6-7 (5-7) 7-6 (7-3) Erler/Miedler

    Job done!

We're going the distance on court 12, Jamie Murray making no mistakes with a smash at the net to the delight of the crowd.

It looks pretty packed for this one.

Both teams head for a bathroom break before the finale.

  3. Tie-breakpublished at 12:46 British Summer Time 9 July 2023

    *Murray/Venus 6-7 (5-7) 6-6 (6-3) Erler/Miedler

Murray and Venus draw level at 3-3 in the tie-break before the change of ends, with Venus landing an ace on his return to the court.

Oh! Double fault. The 13th seeds have an opening here at 5-3.

Great return from Murray! Three set points...

We have one remaining third-round match to get through in the women's draw today - and Mirra Andreeva seems to want to get it done in a hurry.

The 16-year-old qualifier has raced through the opening set against fellow Russian Anastasia Potapova, the 22nd seed.

This is only Andreeva's second Grand Slam and the teenage sensation is within a set of securing a last-16 meeting with Madison Keys. She would be the youngest player to make that stage of the tournament since Coco Gauff in 2019.

  5. Game and second set - Vondrousovapublished at 12:43 British Summer Time 9 July 2023

    Vondrousova 2-6 6-4 Bouzkova*

Did you know... the Czech Republic have the second-most number of competitors in the women's singles event, with 11 ladies starting the tournament. (USA have 19, just in case you were wondering).

Two of them - Marketa Vondrousova and Marie Bouzkova - are locked in a bit of a battle on court two.

Vondrousova, the 2019 French Open finalist, has levelled things up with quite the roar of jubilation, and we are into a decider.

  6. Tie-breakpublished at 12:43 British Summer Time 9 July 2023

    Murray/Venus 6-7 (5-7) 6-6 (2-1) Erler/Miedler*

Murray and Venus found themselves 4-0 down in the first set tie-break, before fighting back only to end up falling short anyway.

They can't afford another slow start here as they look to force a decider.

Much better. Jamie Murray skips back to the baseline. Job done on serve for a 2-1 lead.

  7. Tie-breakpublished at 12:41 British Summer Time 9 July 2023

    Murray/Venus 6-7 (5-7) 6-6 (0-0) Erler/Miedler

It felt inevitable for a long time, really.

Jamie Murray holds firm on serve to force another tie-break.

  8. Murray/Venus serving to stay in matchpublished at 12:39 British Summer Time 9 July 2023

    *Murray/Venus 6-7 (5-7) 5-6 Erler/Miedler

You'll certainly find out if they are part of the Austrian duo's team if they manage to break here for the match, Jess...

A hold of serve puts them a game away against 13th seeds Murray and Venus.

Big, big game coming up here.

I wondered if Judy Murray was here [12:19] but I can't see her. I've been scanning the crowd but she must be sat in the opposite corner to me.

I do have a very animated group next to me who I can only assume are Erler and Mielder's team.

  10. Postpublished at 12:34 British Summer Time 9 July 2023

    Murray/Venus 6-7 (5-7) 5-5 Erler/Miedler*

Michael Venus steps up, a couple of excellent first serves securing the hold for 5-5.

    Another tie-break draws ever nearer...

  11. Postpublished at 12:32 British Summer Time 9 July 2023

    *Murray/Venus 6-7 (5-7) 4-5 Erler/Miedler

Jamie Murray and Michael Venus just need to keep responding here, with Alexander Erler and Lucas Miedler continuing to operate at such a high level.

Again, the Austrians put the pressure back on the 13th seeds with a hold of serve. There's just no way through for the time being.

Venus looks poised to deliver on serve, but a wild forehand flies well beyond the baseline for deuce. Pressure.

  12. game, set and match

Game, set and match - Bains/Lumsdenpublished at 12:31 British Summer Time 9 July 2023

    Bains/Lumsden 6-4 6-4 Linette/Pera

What a win for Great Britain's Naiktha Bains and Maia Lumsden.

The wildcards are into the last 16 and did so in style with a straight-set victory over Magda Linette and Bernarda Pera, showing no nerves to hold to love in the decisive service game.

Linette and Pera are both ranked inside the world's top 30 in singles so that is quite the scalp for the Brits.

Next up for Bains and Lumsden is Slovakian pair Viktoria Hruncakova and Tereza Mihailikova, who beat British duo Heather Watson and Harriet Dart in round two.

  13. 'I won't shake hands' - Svitolinapublished at 12:28 British Summer Time 9 July 2023

While we never know what to expect on a tennis court, we know there's definitely one thing not to expect on Court One this evening - and that's a handshake.

Before the tournament got under way, Ukraine's Elina Svitolina vowed not to shake hands with any players from Russia or Belarus.

Elina Svitolina says she will be extra motivated because of the war in Ukraine when she faces Belarusian Victoria Azarenka at Wimbledon today.

The Ukrainian ex-world number three plays the two-time Grand Slam champion in an eye-catching fourth-round tie in the last match on Court One.

For Svitolina, matches against players from countries backing Russia's invasion of Ukraine are "different".

"I'm playing for my country every single match that I play and this one will be even more special," she said.

"A lot of Ukrainians will be watching, will be supporting me. I will go out there and put the fighting spirit on and just really fight for every single point.

"I just try to take it as a big motivation."

This really has been a very even match.

‘Let’s go Mikey’ are the words of encouragement from Jamie Murray to his partner.

I haven’t managed to get to much doubles so far this week but it really is fascinating to see how the pairs work together.

Me, I think I’d just stand there like a lost puppy. The ball pings around so fast I’d have no chance.

    *Murray/Venus 6-7 (5-7) 2-3 Erler/Miedler

Judy Murray is among those backing her son, Jamie, out on court 12.

It's proving hard work so far. Alexander Erler and Lucas Miedler have been pretty solid and are still refusing to crack.

  18. Game and second set - Pel/Stadlerpublished at 12:17 British Summer Time 9 July 2023

    *Glasspool/Mahut 6-4 3-6 Pel/Stadler

We are going the distance on court 14 where Britain's Lloyd Glasspool and his partner Nicolas Mahut were broken midway through the second set.

It was the only break point the 11th seeds had faced all match but David Pel and Reese Stadler took full advantage.

  19. Bouzkova breaks straight backpublished at 12:15 British Summer Time 9 July 2023

    Vondrousova 2-2 Bouzkova*

'Not so fast' says Marie Bouzkova - she breaks her fellow countrywoman Marketa Vondrousova right back.

Then again, she was a quarter-finalist last year at Wimbledon, so is obviously eyeing up a spot in the last eight again this year - at least.

    *Murray/Venus 6-7 (5-7) 1-2 Erler/Miedler

It's the turn of Jamie Murray and Michael Venus to play catch-up in set two, with their Austrian opponents serving first this time around as they look to record an upset.

Alexander Erler and Lucas Miedler hold again for a 2-1 lead on court 12.

Still no breaks of serve to report. Are we destined for successive tie-breaks?
