A horror start for Alcaraz.
He is getting a mauling here, it’s embarrassing for him. Nothing is going his way.

Here we go then.
Henry Searle serving for the title. He's not dropped his serve yet this match and not dropped a set all tournament.
Is he on his way to the trophy here...?
Alcaraz 0-4 Djokovic*
No, Carlos Alcaraz cannot win his first game.
Novak Djokovic breaks for a second time, Alcaraz stumbling away as he puts a backhand into the net.
Ominous?

Alan G: Novak already showing how it's done!
Mark: Djokovic strikes first with the break. He’s attacking Alcaraz’s forehand, his best groundstroke. Alcaraz needs to limit the unforced errors.

Better from Carlos Alcaraz. He bangs down a big serve to save the second break point.
Now, can he wriggle out of this game and get his name on the board?

Someone has turned up the hob. We're really cooking now.
That 21-shot rally had the fans salivating and then Alcaraz pulls out a hot dog which everyone - apart from Djokovic - thought was in.
Djokovic wags his finger and, after winning the challenge, smiles at the line judge who missed it.
*Alcaraz 0-3 Djokovic
This is not the start Carlos Alcaraz wanted.
Lots of errors and no cheap points. It's a worrying combination.
15-40 and two more break points for Djokovic...

When Novak Djokovic comes out onto this court he is the conductor, he is orchestrating everything.
*Alcaraz 0-3 Djokovic
Oh that was so close! Carlos Alcaraz almost pulls off one of the great shots with a lob played through his legs as he ran back from the net.
It drifted just a smidge too long.
Djokovic holds to continue his solid start.

The best rally of the match so far brings a man in front of me out of his seat. Carlos Alcaraz piled on the pressure but Djokovic was up to the task.
30-30.

Where do you tactically make the decision to attack Djokovic today? There are no weaknesses.

We talked in the build up that the forehand of Alcaraz can be a great weapon, but on the defensive, he just couldn't control it.

Speaking of Bond, I have just spotted Daniel Craig over to my left. He's sitting in the Royal Box two rows behind Prince William.
I assume Craig has a good serve on him. He can do most things.

Where is the gauge on the crowd-o-meter? Hovering around in the middle at the moment.
When there are shouts of support for Alcaraz - 'Vamos Carlos', etc - we hear the Nole Fam quickly respond with 'Idemo Nole!'
Djokovic has not had the warmest relationship with the British crowd, despite his incredible success.
The Serb has been on his best Bond villain form this week, with gesturing towards some fans to 'stop crying' during his semi-final being a personal highlight of his antics.
Alcaraz 0-2 Djokovic*
It's third time lucky for Novak Djokovic.
His box, plus a big group of further support behind, are pumped and leap to their feet - each waving a fist or applauding - as Djokovic pinches the Alcaraz serve.
It's first blood to the great man.

If Alcaraz wins today - even if he doesn't - I can see him dominating tennis for the next 10 years. He could win 2 Slams a year and hit 20 Slams by the time he's 30. None of the others next generation - Rune, Ruud, Zverev - are at his level.

One to go...
*Alcaraz 0-1 Djokovic
As he does so often, Novak Djokovic turns the tables and heaps a bucket load of pressure onto his opponent's shoulders.
He hits a laser-like forehand that leaves Alcaraz scrambling.
Right away there are three break points for the Serb...

Henry Searle's Barmy Army.
Unfortunately for me I am in fact photo-bombing this picture.

The grunts and groans from both men are booming through the glass window in front of me.
Carlos Alcaraz pushes a backhand long before Djokovic follows up with a serve right onto the line.
The Serb has the first game in the bag after a bit of a tussle.
