"Morning team. Winter is back in the Sochi mountains. A decent dump overnight has given everything that sugar-frosted look again and we're all set for the men's giant slalom at Rosa Khutor.

"The defending champion is Swiss Carlo Janka, while the silver medallist from four years ago is Norway's Kjetil Jansrud, a double gold medallist already at the Games. Jansrud's countryman Aksel Lund Svindal was third in Vancouver but has gone home with illness and allergies.

"American Bode Miller is off the mark with that emotional super-G bronze - can he take his Olympic medal haul to seven? Austrian Marcel Hirscher leads the World Cup standings from French youngster Alexis Pinturault and American Ted 'the Shred' Ligety."

The two GB curling teams arrive at the semi-finals following contrasting fortunes.

Eve Muirhead's quartet lost their final round-robin campaign with a disappointing defeat to Denmark, while their semi-final opponents Canada sailed into the knockout stages with nine wins from nine.

Meanwhile, for David Murdoch and his rink, they will play group winners Sweden high on confidence on the back of a stunning play-off last-stone victory over Norway on Tuesday.

The GB women will be in action at 10:00 GMT, with the men following at 15:00. Both matches will be live on the BBC with streams available online, too, as well as on Connected TVs, mobiles, tablets and the BBC Sport app.

Eve Muirhead, aged 12, had to stay up well past her bedtime to watch fellow scot Rhona Martin clinch Olympic curling gold at the 2002 Games.

Twelve years later, she stands just two matches away from repeating the feat. Can the 24-year-old bring the title back to Scotland, the sport's homeland?
