On Twitter, external: "The cheer from the Finnish broadcasters down the corridor just then was deafening. Finland knock Russia's men out of Olympic hockey in Sochi."

"It is sad, Russia are such a proud hockey nation and there is so much pressure on the players to get gold in this event. As the USSR, they were the powerhouse in the world.
"The most disappointing thing about this match is that they won't even get a chance to compete for a medal. It has been such an underwhelming performance from star player Alexander Ovechkin."
A British men's curling team have not won an Olympic medal since a gold in 1924. Skip David Murdoch knows that all too well - he finished fourth in 2006 and fifth in 2010. Can he break the hoodoo and win a medal at the third time of asking? You'll have to tune in from 15:00 GMT to find out.
Russia toil in the final seconds, but even NHL superstar Alexander Ovechkin - the Cristiano Ronaldo of the ice hockey world - cannot inspire a Mighty Ducks-style drama in Sochi. Finland dump out the host nation to set up a semi-final tie against Scandinavian rivals Sweden. Jeers ring out in the Bolshoy Ice Arena as the dejected Russians skate out for the final time in this tournament.
Dutchwoman Carien Kleibeuker leads the way in the women's 5,000m with a time of six minutes 55.66 seconds. However, the defending champion Martina Sablikova of the Czech Republic is about to step onto the ice for her run along with Ireen Wust, who has already claimed 3,000m gold and 1500m silver in Sochi. Things likely to change so watch this space.
Norway's Ole Einar Bjoerndalen will begin his latest attempt to win a record 12th Winter Olympic medal when he goes on the third leg of the biathlon mixed relay - a new event. His team are in a good position, with Tora Berger leading the way after the first shoot.

On Twitter, external: "Lots of "oohs" and "ahhs" coming from every part of Olympic Park. Russia crashing out of the Winter Olympics unless they score."
Less than five minutes for Russia to avoid crashing out of their own Olympics. "It will be front page news in Russia" says BBC Sport commentator Seth Bennett. And president Vladimir Putin, who demanded medals from the event, will not be happy.

"Preparations for the men's curling semi-finals are under way at the Ice Cube Curling Centre. Organisers shave the ice and then sprinkle tiny drops of water on the ice which freezes and creates an orange peel-effect."

"The decision making of the Finns is exceptional. They are always definite of what they want to do, even though it may not always come off."
Hosts Russia have just under eight minutes to rescue their Olympic dreams, but it's not looking likely to be fair. Every time they move forward, the Finland defence put them under pressure and the hosts lose possession.

"I've nipped back to the International Broadcast Centre inbetween the curling semi-finals and as I was strolling back I spotted the men's coach, Soren Gran strolling towards the Ice Cube ahead of their semi final, chatting to an acquaintance in his native Swedish. The team themselves - David Murdoch, Scott Andrews, Greg Drummond and Michael Goodfellow - have been making their way to and from matches on the bicycles."
Norway have leapfrogged Germany into top spot on the medal table after Marit Bjoergen and Ingvild Flugstad won gold in the women's team sprint. It was Bjoergen's second gold of the Games and fifth overall.
United States are third, ahead of Russia, Netherlands and Switzerland. Great Britain have been bumped down a place to 19th.
Russia almost take an immediate advantage as Alexander Radulov dives head first towards the Finnish goal in attempt to turn the puck into the net. The crazy fool. It isn't enough though as the referee immediately says it did not cross the line underneath a host of bodies.
There is a strange atmosphere in the Bolshoy Ice Arena as the Russia fans know their team's chances of an Olympic medal are going down the sewer. Home forward Yevgeni Malkin looks about to pull the trigger in front of goal, only to see the chance go begging as he is illegally 'slashed' by Finland's Juhamatti Aaltonen. Power play to the Russians....
More from GB skip Eve Muirhead after their semi-final defeat: "I'm proud of the girls and we've still got a chance of a medal. I don't want to come away without a medal around my neck.
"Our backs were against the wall but we gave it back to them and it was a high quality game. We've trained hard for this and we'll give the next match our all."
It was defeat for Britain's Eve Muirhead and her team against Canada earlier today, but their hopes of a medal remain when they face Switzerland for the women's bronze at 08:00 GMT tomorrow.
"I'm gutted and so are all the girls," said skip Muirhead, 23. "I came into this tournament saying I wanted no regrets and we gave everything we could in that game."
The hooter sounds to mark the start of the third period as Russia come out fighting. But Finland see out the early pressure before Petri Kontiola almost nets to open up a three-goal lead.
But the defending champion is the Czech Republic's Martina Sablikova. Dubbed "Queen Martina" by Jacques Rogge at the 2010 Games, she has already relinquished her 3,000m title to Wust, instead settling for silver, so will be out for revenge. Those two are paired together in the seventh race.
