    Women's slopestyle final

    Ed Leigh
    Snowboarding commentator on BBC TV

You can see now, inevitably there is a question mark over whether this can continue.

I am looking at the wind down here now and I'm going to come out and say that this is irresponsible if the riders continue to come out and race here.

The wind is wrapping around the hill, blowing the riders in all sorts of directions. All of the riders would have to complete the second run in order for this result to stand.

Another crash. Derungs left sliding across the snow on her backside.

One more, then it's Aimee Fuller.

Confusion. Have we stopped? Nothing is happening.

There is a rider at the top of the course, mind.

    Isabel Derungs is pushing off...

  4. Should this be halted?published at 03:39 Greenwich Mean Time 12 February 2018

    Women's slopestyle final

The windsock is still dancing, its pole bending in the wind.

There is a slight delay. Have we got to the stage where this final could be halted?

A lot of riders will be looking at that, one of the more experienced riders struggling like that, is a shot across everyone's bows.

Ouch. A landing on the backside, the sliding head-first, backwards, down the mountain. Tough to watch, but Candrian is OK.

Not long until Aimee Fuller goes again. Three more riders, in fact.

Tayler: This has been a farce of a slopestyle final. They shouldn't be laying down runs when the wind is like this...

James: Some of the rail stuff has been superb but as soon as they get to the kickers it’s in the lap of the gods. I just want to see someone lay something down - if it’s Aimee Fuller, that would be quite something.

It's only fifth for Fedorova. That seems harsh.

Hello. We have a contender. Sofya Fedorova, the 19-year-old representing OAR has done that rarest of rare things - a clean run.

Aggressive, ending with a fist pump. This will be top three...

    Aaaahhhh.

Cheryl Maas of the Netherlands, aged 33, was looking strong until a jump ended with a landing on her back.

Maas is the sixth woman to head down in the second run. None of them have made it through cleanly.

Well - enough for the merchandise shop to have pretty much sold out of all hats and it’s only day three of the Winter Olympics!

The second run has carried on where the first left off. There are still riders crashing all over the place. The wind is whipping the snow all over the place and even the rails might be wobbling slightly.

    Women's slopestyle final

    Tim Warwood
    Snowboarding commentator on BBC TV

We saw it in the men's yesterday, the first set of runs were all over the place. The wind wasn't favourable at all.

But it's a level playing field; everyone has the same jumps and the same gusty conditions. Yes, its a little bit of a lottery but as we saw with Jamie Anderson, if you have a bit of composure and you have that experience then you can snowboard clever and you can get the job done.

    Team event

    David McDaid
    BBC Sport in Pyeongchang

After she beat her hitherto-unbeatable team-mate Evgenia Medvedova to European gold last month, Alina Zagitova’s Olympic debut has been highly anticipated.

The 15-year-old didn’t disappoint, scoring 158.08 in her free skate - a massive 20 points ahead of her nearest challenger.

That gave OAR the full 10 points in the team event as we move into the final ice dance free skate.

Canada lost a little ground but it’s still them in gold by five points and having spoken to Patrick Chen and Gabby Daleman after their performances, the Canadians are already tentatively talking about standing on top of the podium.

OAR are sill in line to take silver and USA bronze.

Steev Davidson: Such a shame for the competitors that the wind is making the slopestyle a bit of a lottery.

Appypud: It's no fun watching this Women's Snowboarding, it's not a competition when they can't handle the wind!
