    The speed skating takes place on this 400m track in Gangneung.

    The skaters compete against the clock rather than directly against each other in a knockout format.

    However, they do compete in pairs - one begins in the outer lane and one in the inner lane and they switch after each lap. The pairs are matched by world cup rankings and team-mates are kept apart. The highest-ranked skaters race at the end of the competition.

    Simple!

    South Korean figure skater Yura Min did not let a sartorial setback , externalruin her 2018 Winter Olympic ambitions.

    A clasp on her red dress slipped just seconds into her pairs figure skating routine on Sunday.

    It was the first Olympic event for her and partner Alexander Gamelin, and Min had to readjust her dress several times throughout the dance.

    However, the pair continued, scoring 51.97 points and finishing in ninth place.
