Few will say it publicly - although GB’s Aimee Fuller is one who has - but there is a feeling in the snowboard community that Shaun White’s status gives him preferential treatment.

‘Everyone else starts at zero and works up, whereas Shaun White starts at 100 and has marks knocked off’ - is essentially the gist.

Whether the criticism is fair is for others to say, but halfpipe wouldn’t be alone in this - other subjective, judged, sports like gymnastics and diving have also faced similar ‘bias’ claims towards some athletes.

Fans have been lucky with the weather today! With alpine events postponed elsewhere there were fears high winds could impact the snowboard halfpipe final, but the high winds appear to have missed this part of the Pyeongchang mountain range.

It’s overcast, but much more mild than for the last week with temperatures incredibly above freezing. Good for fans and athletes who’ve thrown down some big scores so far.
