Is Elise Christie's form at the Olympics down to pressure, decision-making or just sheer bad luck?
I spoke to former Olympic champion Steven Bradbury, who won the so-called luckiest Winter Games gold in the 1000m final in 2002.
His title came after years of being wiped out of races and suffering horrific injuries, including a broken neck.
"People in the sport understand the nature of short track and situations like this, as Elise has found out, are common," said 44-year-old Bradbury.
"You have to think that there's an upside to come for her. There just has to be. Her ability is incredible.
"She's not the smartest racer in the world, that's a given. Sometimes she does dumb things out there on the ice and puts herself in positions that she doesn't need to.
"But her story is one of more bad luck than I've ever seen in the sport. And for me, I've had my share of bad luck."

So we should know in about 45 minutes' time if Elise Christie is NOT able to compete.

Jamie Hackett: Even after been carried off on a stretcher Elise Christie will never give up. Go and get that medal!
Joy Wright: Good luck Elise, the Wright family are all behind you. We’ll be cheering loudly at the TV. Much love!
Women's 1000m (10:00 GMT)
How are we all feeling about Elise Christie then?To recap, Christie suffered three disqualifications in Sochi and has racked up two further disappointments in Pyeongchang. Having won her heats with ease, she crashed in the 500m final on Tuesday and the1500m semi on Saturday.
The 1,000m is her only hope of securing that elusive medal this time round. And she is fighting to be fit for the qualifiers after picking up soft tissue damage to her ankle.
As it stands we think she is going to race...
Hungary's Elizabeth Marian Swaney shows off her unique style in the women's halfpipe qualifiers, she scored 30.00 meaning she finished round one 22nd out of 24.
Contrast that to Canada's Cassie Sharpe who topped the standings after round one (and round two) with this score of 93.00.
Curling: GB men 10-3 Norway
Great Britain men's skip Kyle Smith speaking to BBC TV earlier this morning: "I would say [it was our best performance] I am really pleased with that.
"It's quite nice to have a bit of a break now. It's been quite relentless so it will be a nice to have a break and focus for our game tomorrow."
Kyle Smith described the 10-3 victory over Norway as the British men's "best performance so far" as they took a huge step towards the curling semi-finals.
"It feels like we're getting better with each game. That's three wins back-to-back so we know a win over the USA will see us into the semi-finals," he told BBC Sport.
Smith's rink controlled the match from the outset, as they took three from the first end before stealing a single in the second.
Norway got two back in the third but it was only a temporary setback as a beautifully-judged final shot in the fourth from Smith put Team GB 6-2 up.
So victory for Team GB's women on the curling rink this morning, and also for the men...
British curler Anna Sloan on Twitter: "One game left in the round robin! Great work from the team this morning."
Marc Burrows: Can you show the table for the curling so we have an idea of what is needed?
As you wish Marc...
Slovenia 1-0 Norway
The only sport taking place at the moment is the men's ice hockey - you can watch at the top of the page.
Also, is there any need for that ear probe to be quite that long?!
Morgan struggling?
British snowboarder Billy Morgan has been in the wars it seems.
I think this means that he has an ear infection, which makes him quite dizzy.
He is due to compete in big air on Wednesday.

Manning1985: Great win for Team GB and Team Muirhead on a winning streak, keep going, keep winning! Go for Gold.
tc_moon poet: Team Muirhead - Calculated victory. Well played...
Ashleigh Richards: What an absolutely HUGE win for Team Muirhead considering the positions of Japan and Team GB in the Round Robin table before the match. This was MASSIVE! Great work Girls!
If you missed it earlier on (of course you did, you were asleep), Great Britain's Penny Coomes and Nick Buckland just missed out on a top-10 finish in the ice dance competition on day 11 of the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang.
After qualifying in 10th, the pair came 11th after their free dance while Canada's Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir won gold with a world record of 206.07.
Ice dancing duo Nick Buckland and Penny Coomes have been spotted in the Olympic Park.
Great Britain 8-6 Japan
Steve Cram
Curling commentator on BBC TV
Britain had to win this match against Japan after a difficult start and they have done very well. They have won three in a row now.
That match against Canada could guarantee them a spot in the top four. Well done to Eve Muirhead and her team. It was a really good performance.
