I still think when your skip is starting to struggle then the team is going to. More often that not it's the skip who is trying to make the crucial decisions as well.

This could be a huge turnaround for Great Britain. There was some nice play from the whole team. All of a sudden it is a complete change around. Things are looking an awful lot better.

My word, what a turnaround. Great Britain, against the hammer, steal three. That's four points taken in ends where Japan have had the final stone. They've not score since. From 3-1 down, Great Britain are 6-3 up.

Muirhead removes the glove from her right hand to deliver her first stone. There's a blue stopwatch attached to her trousers. GB have two guards at the front of the house. Muirhead and Anna Sloan watch from behind as the penultimate Japanese brick comes down. More laser-guided accuracy from skip Muirhead. Japan under pressure with the last brick...

We've reached the half-way point in this very important match for Great Britain's women and, after a bit of a tussle, it's level.

    Men's play-offs: Norway v Slovenia

    Seth Bennett
    Commentator on BBC TV

Norway are playing in their 12th Olympic ice hockey tournament and may never get a better chance to reach the quarter-finals. They face a Slovenian side who are in world ice hockey's second tier and will face Great Britain at the World Championships in Budapest in April.

Slovenia have goals in their team, scoring eight times in the group stage, compared with Norway's two. That is likely to be the difference between these two teams. Whoever wins faces the daunting task of a last-eight clash with OAR.

Your breakfast dose of ice hockey begins at 07:40 GMT.

    Great Britain 3-3 Japan

Meanwhile, British pressure in end five forces Japan to cut their losses. Discretion is the better part of valour and all that. The Japanese choose to blank the end, just so they can keep the hammer. It seems a while ago that Britain were under the pump in this one.

Japan seem to high-five after every stone, no matter if it ends up near its intended target or in the first row of the stands. GB are turning up the heat in this fifth end, the last before the break. Muirhead and co still have two in the house.

For the first time, Japan look rattled. There's lots of broom-pointing and hand gesturing. When a yellow stone is delivered, it is swept with the energy of a school caretaker on the final day before the summer holidays. Great Britain have two stones in the house with no Japanese bricks for company.

They've tied it up and as we enter the fifth end there will now be a little more confidence within this Great Britain team.

This is the point now where they really need to pull together. They've managed to level it up and now the hammer has switched in Britain's favour.

That's better from Great Britain. Against the hammer, GB steal a point to level things up. Japan will still have the hammer in the next end, so Eve Muirhead and co have work to do, but that is a much-needed boost after what was a pretty poor start.
