Canada are doing a good job of keeping the house tidy in this sixth end. Like they've hired a cleaner. We could be heading for another blank.

Great Britain’s Jamie Nicholls can’t hide his disappointment at not making the final.

“I’m gutted, devastated,” he told me.

“I was really nervous in my first run as I was the first one to drop. I took off a bit too early which is why I didn’t land it.

“I put myself under pressure to land the second run and I’m so glad I did.

“I expected it to score higher but it wasn’t to be today.”

Regarding the jump: “This is the most mellow big air I’ve ever competed on. I wish I had one in my back garden!”

On the venue: “The atmosphere is incredible and the stadium is brilliant with so many people here to watch qualifying.”

Rowan Coultas falls painfully close. We knew it would come down to tiny, tiny margins.

It is so, so close. It ends ridiculously congested between fourth and eighth place in the first heat.

That second run, by the way, begins in about an hour and 15 minutes. Morgan, the European X Games bronze medallist, is 12th to drop.

Half a point! Rowan Coultas misses out by half a point! Absolutely agonising for the Briton, who improves on his first run, but still finishes in eighth place.

Both he and Jamie Nicholls fail in this first heat, with Billy Morgan to come in the second.

    Canada 3-2 Great Britain

Canada want more, more I tell you. A piffling single point is not good enough for the world champs. They take a scoreless fifth end and keep the hammer for the sixth, which comes after a short break. GB and Eve Muirhead have some thinking to do.

Great Britain have to continue as they are, the rest of the girls are playing well and they just need to club together around Anna Sloan at the minute. Other than that they're playing the with the right strategy but at the end of the day strategy counts for nothing if you can't perform the shots.

Anna Sloan looks worried. Late-for-a-flight worried. Lost-your-phone worried. GB have stones at the edge of the house, but Canada have the hammer.

This fifth end will probably conclude at the same time that Rowan Coultas drops in the big air...

This goes down as one of the most spectacular looking sports in the Games. If you stood at the bottom of the ramp and tried to pick out the competitors at the top, you'd injure your neck. They are dropping from the blue sky and taking off again, like a plane aborting its landing. Highlight-reel stuff.

Max Parrot, silver medallist in the slopestyle, leads the way. Red Gerrad has inched into fifth and faces a nervous wait.

    "Let's go, Canada. Let's go."

There's a section of red and white to the left of sheet D who are very much behind the defending champions.

I can see in the distance that one of them is dressed like the Cat in the Hat and I'm determined to get a picture of him.

Eve Muirhead closes the gap on Canada but the advantage is very much still with the Canadians.

Great Britain need to hang on in there for the time being and put Rachel Homan under as much pressure as possible.

Actually, it's one taken by Muirhead, who looks pretty hacked off with the whole situation.

GB don't have to win this - they can still go through to the semi with a defeat if other results go their way - but a loss would make things twitchier than they need to be.
