Curling: Women's bronze medal game - Great Britain 3-2 Japan (after five ends)

We are at the halfway point of this bronze medal match in the curling.

This is how the fifth end ended...

Britain are lying with the shot...

    End 5

Japan then nudge themselves into a position to score one...

    End 5

Eve Muirhead knows there is a slim chance of taking two...

    End 5

...it is close, so close to being perfect but it is only good enough for one. Great Britain lead 3-2. Whoever has had the hammer has taken one shot in each of the ends.

One mistake or one moment of magic from either team could be the difference between bronze and missing out.

Chris Whitaker: I really hope curling can capitalise on the interest from the Winter Olympics. Just tried to see where my nearest sessions are - 80 miles and 150 miles away. So, there's a gap in the market for the East if anyone fancies it...

Steve Bradley: This curling is quite hypnotic, a mixture of spinning stones and players commentary. All sports should have this much player commentary with either Scottish accents or in Japanese.

They tweeted, rather cheekily, a "travel advisory".

The message read: "Germans in Canada should exercise a high degree of empathy. Be nice, don't gloat, give hugs, buy rounds of hot chocolate. Just imagine how you would feel if Canada beat us in soccer."

Neither team are really getting hold of an end here, both are making little mistakes on either side, so no-one's been able to take a two.

The good news is that it's all tied up at 2-2 going into the fifth end.

Eve Muirhead was not too happy at taking one in the third end, wanting a blank end so she could have had the chance to get two in the fourth.

And the fourth end went exactly as Muirhead feared, with Japan, who had the hammer, taking one.

This match so far - we get one, you get one, we get one, you get one. Four ends gone and it is as tight and tense as we expected. 2-2.
