  1. 'Nice shot'published at 06:47 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2022

Curling mixed doubles - Sweden 7-1 Great Britain (after three ends)

Surely Great Britain can't fall further behind if they are to have any hope of getting those bronze medals.

"Nice shot," says Jen Dodds to Bruce Mouat after he bumps a red stone out.

  2. 'Out-throwing'published at 06:43 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2022

Curling mixed doubles - Sweden 7-1 GB (after three ends)

    Steve Cram
    Curling commentator on BBC TV

Almida De Val is out-throwing Jen Dodds - and that is what is making the difference.

A nice shot there from Bruce, and a little encouragement from the British contingent, trying to lift this team.

  3. 'Britain need to sharpen up'published at 06:42 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2022

Curling mixed doubles - Sweden 7-1 GB (after three ends)

    Rhona Howie
Olympic gold medallist curler on BBC TV

Britain just need to sharpen up on a few shots. They're not far away.

Are Sweden going to play like that for eight ends? We just need to keep plugging away.

  4. Sweden hit formpublished at 06:41 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2022

Curling mixed doubles - Sweden 7-1 GB (after three ends)

    Thomas Duncan
    BBC Scotland in Beijing

As I mentioned before the game, Sweden have been up and down in this tournament.

We saw the down last night when they were trounced by Italy. I think we're watching the up now...

  5. 'Britain up against it'published at 06:41 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2022

Curling mixed doubles - Sweden 7-1 GB (after three ends)

    Steve Cram
    Curling commentator on BBC TV

A little bit of hit and hope here. She's over-thrown it.

Three for Sweden and this could not have gone any worse for Britain. They are really up against it.

  6. Sweden extend lead in bronze-medal matchpublished at 06:40 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2022

Curling mixed doubles - Sweden 7-1 Great Britain (after three ends)

Great Britain were 1-0 ahead after one end, but they are now staring at a 7-1 deficit two ends later.

It's going to be some recovery from Mouat and Dodds to win those bronze medals from here.

  7. Postpublished at 06:39 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2022

Curling mixed doubles - Sweden 4-1 GB

    Jackie Lockhart
Four-time Olympic curler on BBC TV

Neither of these red stones from Sweden haven't got yellow stones behind them. So they're not going to jam on there.

They are lying three shots at the moment.

GB really need to score here.

  8. Postpublished at 06:39 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2022

Sweden are lying with three and unless Jen Dodds can be accurate here, Great Britain could be in a bit of trouble.

  9. Postpublished at 06:37 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2022

Curling mixed doubles - Sweden 4-1 GB

    Steve Cram
    Curling commentator on BBC TV

Bruce just needs to get that red off the button and give Jen the chance for a one, if nothing else.

  10. Postpublished at 06:36 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2022

Curling mixed doubles - Sweden 4-1 Great Britain (after two ends)

Sweden's Almida De Val has a 100% accuracy record so far in this game. Flawless.

  11. Postpublished at 06:34 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2022

Curling mixed doubles - Sweden 4-1 GB

    Steve Cram
    Curling commentator on BBC TV

Britain have the hammer and they will want to start moving reds early.

They will want to get a two here, but easier said than done.

  12. Postpublished at 06:32 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2022

Curling mixed doubles - Sweden 4-1 Great Britain (after two ends)

A reminder, this will be played over eight ends and how will the pairing of Bruce Mouat and Jen Dodds respond after Sweden stormed ahead in the second end?

  13. 'No need to panic'published at 06:31 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2022

Curling mixed doubles - Sweden 4-1 GB (after two ends)

    Steve Cram
    Curling commentator on BBC TV

What you saw there is that threes and fours are possible.

No need to panic just now but it was a good set-up from Eriksson and goodness me that was almost an Eriksson shot that Almida De Val played there.

  14. 'Plenty of ends left'published at 06:31 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2022

Curling mixed doubles - Sweden 4-1 GB (after two ends)

    Thomas Duncan
    BBC Scotland in Beijing

That's why Oskar Eriksson is considered one of the best in the world. A wonderful take out, and Almida de Val finished it off beautifully.

A blow for GB but there are plenty of ends left.

  15. Postpublished at 06:30 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2022

Curling mixed doubles - Sweden 4-1 Great Britain (after two ends)

Bad news for GB as Sweden's Almida de Val produces a fine shot at the end of the second end and Britain's 1-0 advantage after one end instantly flips around and they now find themselves 4-1 behind after two ends.

  16. Postpublished at 06:28 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2022

Curling mixed doubles - Sweden 0-1 GB

    Jackie Lockhart
Four-time Olympic curler on BBC TV

Jennifer has done a good job there and she's reduced the scoring area for Sweden.

De Val is probably going to try and chip this out.

  17. Postpublished at 06:27 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2022

Curling mixed doubles - Sweden 0-1 GB

    Jackie Lockhart
Four-time Olympic curler on BBC TV

Eriksson catches it right on the nose, and that's a partial success for Sweden.

Sweden are lying two at the moment and they are not sitting well enough for Jennifer to remove both of them.

  18. Postpublished at 06:25 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2022

Curling mixed doubles - Sweden 0-1 GB

    Steve Cram
    Curling commentator on BBC TV

That shot from Bruce previously worked out for him with Eriksson catching the second guard.

I think GB will get a little protection in there again.

  19. Postpublished at 06:25 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2022

Curling mixed doubles - Sweden 0-1 GB

    Jackie Lockhart
Four-time Olympic curler on BBC TV

Bruce took the right ice but didn't play the right weight. That stopped too short, and needed to stop tighter to that red.

  20. Postpublished at 06:25 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2022

Curling mixed doubles - Sweden 0-1 GB

    Thomas Duncan
    BBC Scotland in Beijing

When all the stones are gathered round the button like this, it gets tense.

Teams have to work out how to set it up for the big finish.
