    Men's giant slamon

Andreas Zampa has snatched the lead of this men's giant slalom for Slovakia, fighting his way through the heavy snowfall.

His brother, Adam, not to be confused with the Australia international leg-spinner of the same name, will go next.

    Men's giant slalom

We have our first faller of run two, Emir Lokmic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

On his Olympic profile it says he likes all things boating. He felt that sinking feeling there but he won't be the last in these conditions.

A reminder of run one's final standings at the top of the board:

    1. Marco Odermatt (Switzerland) 1:02.93

    2. Stefan Brennsteiner (Austria) 1:02.97

    3. Mathieu Faivre (France) 1:03.01

    Women's curling

Switzerland continue their fine form in women's curling. Four wins from four and they lead 2-0 against Canada. The Swiss top the round robin stage so far.

Remember there are 10 teams in this stage and when they've all played one another four will go through.

This is Great Britain's fifth game and they currently have two wins and as many losses. Thankfully they have a 2-1 advantage over Denmark here in the fourth end.

Great Britain's record of winning a skeleton medal at every Winter Olympics since the sport's introduction 20 years ago is over.

On Saturday Laura Deas said her 19th place in the women's skeleton at the Beijing Winter Games was "nowhere near what I wanted".

The bronze medallist from the 2018 Games in Pyeongchang finished almost four seconds behind Germany's Hannah Neise, who took gold in China.

Fellow Briton Brogan Crowley came 22nd, after Matt Weston and Marcus Wyatt were 15th and 16th in the men's event.

"Clearly we're lacking speed," Deas said.

"I can't give you an answer now - I don't know the answer.

"But it's something we're going to go and review pretty closely and hopefully come back stronger."

A nice way to begin the match. Bread and butter stuff for Eve Muirhead.

That’s a great start and a great way to settle the nerves if there is any.

On paper Britain should be beating Denmark but it is curling, it is a game where you never know on the day.

If they come out and play as they did against USA it will make it a lot easier.

The big games come thick and fast for Eve Muirhead's GB rink.

Denmark are second bottom of the standings having won just one of their four games.

It's the kind of match which they need to win if they want to make the semi-finals.

They currently sit tied for fifth, and only the top four qualify for the semi-finals.

  17. Valieva trains before key decisionpublished at 05:58 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2022

Russian teenage figure skater Kamila Valieva was training in Beijing on Sunday as she awaits her Winter Olympics fate.

The 15-year-old, who failed a drugs test in December, will hear on Monday if she can compete in the individual event in Beijing and if she is being stripped of team gold.

A hearing is set for Sunday at 12:30 GMT where a Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas) panel will decide whether to suspend her, with the women's singles starting on Tuesday.

Valieva tested positive for the banned substance trimetazidine after a test carried out at the Russian Figure Skating Championships on 25 December.

But it was only reported on 8 February, the day after she became the first female skater to land a quadruple jump at an Olympics to help the Russian Olympic Committee team win gold.

When the issue came to light, the medal ceremony was postponed at short notice.

Britain's Lilah Fear and Lewis Gibson avoided being distracted by the turbulent times in their sport to claim a top-10 spot in the first part of the Olympic ice dance competition.

The focus at the figure skating returned to sport for a few hours on Saturday against the backdrop of the failed drugs test of Kamila Valieva.

The Britons scored 76.45 to sit 10th before Monday's free dance.

"We're super proud of the skate," Gibson told BBC Sport.

Skating to a Kiss medley, the Britons looked like they had enjoyed every second of their performance in the rhythm dance, where the top-performing skaters were French four-time world champions Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron with 90.83.
