GB's men and women pick up winspublished at 09:45 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2022

    Curling round robin matches

It's been a good morning for Team GB's curling teams.

The women's side, consisting of Eve Muirhead, Vicky Wright, Jen Dodds and Hailey Duff claimed their third win in five games as they beat Denmark 7-2.

That came after the men's team of Bruce Mouat, Grant Hardie, Bobby Lammie and Hammy McMillan overcame China 7-6 to move second in the standings.

The men return again later today, facing Denmark at 12:05 GMT.

Marte Olsbu Roeiseland is proving just about unbeatable in 2022, what a performance.

The sprint champion becomes the pursuit champion and she goes down in history now as one of the greats.

She's won that gold by the metaphorical country mile. That was superb, almost flawless from the World Cup leader.

The deadlock is broken in the second period!

Sweden's Lucas Wallmark lets fly and there was no stopping it as the puck flew into the top left hand corner of the net.

They scored while Finland were down a man, Saku Maenalanen, who was in the sin bin for cross checking. That extra man told.

Elvira Oeberg of Sweden comes home a massive 90 seconds behind Roeiseland to take silver.

Norway's Tiril Eckhoff wins the bronze.

Her teammate Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold was in third going into the final lap but has been pipped. Tandrevold is being helped to her feet by the medical staff.

A third gold of the Games for Marte Olsbu Roeiseland!

She has won this by a mile, smiling and waving as she completed the final lap.

  6. What's happened so far on day nine?published at 09:32 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2022

Just waking up from a lovely Sunday morning lie-in?

Here's a quick recap of the key things that have happened so far on day nine at Beijing 2022:

  7. 'Such a unique mix of skills required'published at 09:29 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2022

    Women's biathlon

    Rob Walker
    Commentator on BBC TV

The pressure, the conditions, the fatigue.

It's a bit like asking someone to run 800m as fast as they possibly can and then step off the track and try and hit a bullseye.

Such a unique mix of skills required for gold when it comes to biathlon.

    Women's biathlon pursuit

The fresh snow continues to fall at the biathlon centre, only adding to the thigh-burning nature of this event.

As ever this is a cross-country event and the skiers have just made their way up a hill which is quite frankly silly. You'd want to be going down it not up, that's for certain.

Into the closing stages we go. Roeiseland still leads as she heads to the range for the final time.

    Anna Thompson

It’s probably not a huge surprise given these two teams have won their opening two games but it has been a very tight first period at the National Indoor Stadium.

Both teams are cancelling each other out.

Sweden just edge the shots on goal count 10-8 but even when both teams had a player in the sin bin at different points, the other team could not capitalise.

  10. Roeiseland leading at halfwaypublished at 09:21 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2022

    Women's biathlon

This women's pursuit is Marte Olsbu Roeiseland's fourth event at this year's Games.

She has won a medal in each of her event so far.

The Norwegian held a 45-second lead at the halfway stage but has just missed with one of her rifle efforts.

That means she has to go around the 150m penalty loop, which should take around 25 seconds.

One of the things this Games has been criticised for is its lack of snow.

There has been lots today, however...

The next medal today should come from the women's biathlon pursuit.

This is the most straightforward of the biathlon events with the gold medal simply going to the first athlete across the line.

The sprint champion, Marte Olsbu Roeiseland of Norway, sets off first with the remaining biathletes pursuing - going off at intervals depending on their time in the sprint.

There are four stops at the shooting range and a 150m penalty loop for any misses.

Also if you're lapped you're out.

    All clear?

  13. 'We're not getting too far ahead of ourselves'published at 09:07 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2022

Women's curling: Great Britain 7-2 Denmark

    Vicky WrightImage source, Getty Images

Some reaction after Great Britain's win over Denmark in the curling.

Vicky Wright: "We had a really strong start out there, we were going well going a couple up early on but we always felt in control.

"We had a game plan, we stuck to it, a solid performance by ourselves.

"We take every game as it comes, we've just got to keep going one step at a time, we're not getting too far ahead of ourselves.

"It was good to get two wins back-to-back but tomorrow is another day and we start fresh again."

  14. Going for goldpublished at 09:04 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2022

We've got more gold coming your way than a 19th Century Californian miner. There are FIVE more medal events to come today.

However there is no British representation in any of them, meaning the nation's wait for its first medal of the Games goes on.

    09:00: Biathlon - women's 10km pursuit

    12:45: Biathlon - men's 12.5km pursuit

    11:00-12:14: Men's short-track speed skating 500m

    11:44: Women's short-track speed skating 3000m relay

    13:56: Women's speed skating 500m

So that means the British interest focuses on the men’s curling, with Bruce Mouat and the lads taking on Denmark at 12:05.

  15. Sweden go closepublished at 08:59 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2022

    Men's ice hockey - Finland 0-0 Sweden

Sweden have had the first big chance of the game but the Finland goalkeeper Jussi Olkinuora keeps it out and lies down in front of the goal to prevent any rebounding puck sneaking in past him.

It's 0-0 in the first period with chances few and far between.

Every break in play is greeted with banging tunes - we've had White Stripes, Def Leppard and Aerosmith so far. Definitely my kind of music!

Sergey Ustiugov can cruise down the finishing straight, grabbing hold of a flag from the crowd as he does so.

A massive victory for the Russian Olympic Committee. Nobody could get close.

But who's going to win the race for silver?

It's Norway's Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo who comes in next, just edging out France's Maurice Manificat in the closing stages.

    Men's 4x10km relay

It's looking like the Russian Olympic Committee have enough of a gap to see out this men's 4x10km relay.

Sergey Ustiugov is holding steady. Behind him, France's Maurice Manificat and Norway's Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo have broken clear in the fight for the remaining two medal positions.

Who has more left in the tank at the end of this gruelling race? There's nothing to separate the pair with just a couple of kilometres of the final leg to go.

  19. 'Thank you, snowboarding'published at 08:49 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2022

It was an emotional end to snowboarding legend Shaun White's career, the American coming fourth in the men's halfpipe this week.

Five Olympics, three gold medals. Job done.
