    Women's curling - Great Britain 1-4 Canada

Kaitlyn Lawes takes out two GB guards, bouncing her stone off one red and into the other. Well executed.

Vicky Wright's next red falls nicely though, removing one before resting behind a yellow - only for Jennifer Jones to pick it out.

With it being 14 February, BBC commentator Steve Cram gives a mention to Romancing The Stone. Geddit?

(For younger followers - there was a 1984 film of the same name starring Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner).

Eve Muirhead leaves GB's last stone beside the remaining red on the button, but Jennifer Jones once again delivers with Canada's final shot to secure three in the fifth end.

It was looking pretty good for GB there, but they now trail 4-1.

Nicely done. Eve Muirhead places a red in the house, offering further protection to that stone on the button.

Canada only have two shots left to turn this around... But that's a fine start by Jennifer Jones, cleaning out two of GB's stones.

Manuel Fettner has done it for Austria!

He scores 119 with his final jump but then faces a nervous wait to see if Peter Prevc of Slovenia can respond with the final jump of the competition.

Prevc's jump is good - 127 metres - but his final score of 117 is not enough for gold and Slovenia finish 8.3 points short.

Nope, there's too much on it.

Jennifer Jones rolls the final yellow out to keep the hammer, and leave things tied at 1-1 heading into the fifth end.

    It's chess on ice.

British pair Brad Hall and Nick Gleeson are stationary. Not on the track, of course, but on the leaderboard. They remain 11th with 24 teams now having completed their first run.

While they are 0.67 seconds behind German leader Francisco Freidrich, British eyes are more likely to fixed on the bronze-medal spot.

Hall and Gleeson are 0.28 seconds behind the Russian crew currently in third.

Oh it's close out there all right.

There have rarely been several stones in play at any one time during this match, and once again GB and Canada are taking it in turns to clean the other out of the house.

Two stones left each, Canada have one yellow standing - and they will have the final say in this fourth end.

Are we set for the latest instalment of the heavyweight battle between Canada and the USA for women's ice hockey gold in Beijing?

Canada have secured their place in the Olympic final for the SEVENTH consecutive Games, following a resounding 10-3 win over Switzerland earlier today.

Four-time champions since the title was first contested in 1998, Canada have met the USA in the final for the past three Winter Olympics.

Defending champions the USA, who beat Canada 3-2 in the 2018 final, face Finland in the other semi-final at 13:10 GMT.

That's twice now Eve Muirhead hasn't quite managed to pull off the final shot for two.

Canada made that last one difficult by freezing their own stone up against Britain's red.

    Men's team ski jumping

We are halfway through the final of the men's team ski jumping event and it is Slovenia who remain in the gold medal position.

They were briefly bumped off top spot by Austria, but Cene Prevc delivered the best jump of the final round so far to nudge the Slovenians back in front.

Norway remain in third and have extended their gap between themselves and Germany.

It looks like the current top three are going to fight it out for a position on the podium.
