I asked Brad Hall a couple of days ago how the team’s preparations had been going in Beijing.

“It’s been going pretty well,” he said. “It’s a brand new track so no-one knew how to drive it. It’s been a lot of learning to try and get ahead of our opponents and to find the fastest way down and I think we’ve got that pretty well worked out.

“All we need to do is string together four runs and that will put us in a good position.”

He and Nick Gleeson certainly seemed to have sussed the track out well as they posted the second fastest run in their last training session.

Brad Hall and Nick Gleeson are a contender! There was a test event in October, they had two weeks there, Brad and the team they did really well, they performed there, they were right in contention.

The bobsleigh boys are about to get moving. Some EDM blares out to get the adrenalin pumping further. Sounds like a Vegas club rather than sporting arena.

Any chance of British success here? We're still waiting for that elusive medal...

Canada started as one of the gold-medal favourites but have lost three of their five games so far.

It's do or die for Jennifer Jones and her team if they want to repeat their 2014 gold.

It's for the same reason that Eve Muirhead and co need to beat them. Lose, and you're level on the same 3-3 record and with a head-to-head disadvantage when it comes to qualifying.

High stakes in the race for the top four.

    Women's curling - Great Britain v Canada

Great Britain's women are joint fourth in the women's curling round-robin standings, with this game in hand on third-placed USA, who have one more win but lost 10-5 to GB on Saturday.

The teams each play nine matches in the round-robin stage, with the top four advancing to the semi-finals.

Women's curling: Great Britain v Canada

GB's women's curling team got their campaign back on track with victories over Denmark and the United States over the weekend.

The quartet of Eve Muirhead, Vicky Wright, Jen Dodds and Hailey Duff had lost two of their opening three matches.

But they will be looking to make it three wins on the bounce when they face Canada from 12:05 GMT.

Not long to wait for that one!

Laura Peel is the reigning world aerials champion and she made an emphatic statement in the final World Cup event before the Winter Olympics, landing a ‘back full-full-full’ for an incredible 118.05 score.

The Aussie needs something similar now to climb into the top six...

The landing isn't clean but the execution is top drawer... and she's in! A mark of 100.02 puts her fourth and into the medal final. Phew!

Are they scorchmarks in the snow? Ashley Caldwell is on FIRE!

The American, and the leader from jump one, is assured of her place in the medal final and tries a training jump which could heklp her win gold.

Nailed it! Caldwell betters her first jump with a score of 105.60 and goes into the final as the woman to beat.

Canada's Marion Thenault whoops and claps as she receives her score - she's into sixth place!

Thenault scored 91.29 out of a possible 105, no wonder she's buzzing.

But can Danielle Scott topple her? She's going for a triple... no! A poor landing means she will not finish in the top six.

"Not my night. Sorry everyone, I let you guys down," she says down the camera.

No need to apologise, Danielle. You're an Olympian trying triple somersaults on a ski jump. We're all in awe.

Markus Eisenbichler lets out a load roar after landing a huge 136m jump.

It's not enough to move Germany into the medal positions, but it does narrow the gap on the top three - Slovenia, Norway and Austria.

The fourth and final jump of the first round to come. Most teams save their best jumpers for last, so this could be interesting....

Belarus' Hanna Huskova is thought to be a medal chance, but she's facing a nervy finish too. She slightly improves on her first jump, but stays in fifth place.

Top six go through to the medal final, remember.

Australian pair Danielle Scott and Laura Peel will fancy their chances of getting above Huskova's score of 92.00.

American Kaila Kuhn is the first to make her move, landing a jump of 85.68 to sneak into sixth placed.

Will that be good enough to reach the medal final? Hmmm. Going to be a tense wait...

It's not looking good for China, the US and the Czech Republic.
