It's gold for Austria's Anna Gasser!

The defending champion produced a stunning final jump, scoring 95.50 for a combined score of 185.50 at Shougang Park.

New Zealand's Zoi Sadowski Synnott was the last to drop but she couldn't land her final jump and has to settle for silver with 177.00.

But after winning the slopestyle last week, she can't be too greedy.

Japan's Kokomo Murase rounds of the podium on 171.50 in what has been a high class final at an iconic venue.

The men's final starts at 05:00 GMT.

  2. Women's downhill delayedpublished at 03:13 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February 2022

Our very own Sarah Mulkerrins is at Yanqing National Alpine Centre for the women's downhill but she's just been informed the start has been pushed back until 03:30 GMT because of high winds.

Mathilde Gremaud qualified in 12th and then put down the run of her life to take gold, a phenomenal achievement!

She has come out here and 100% delivered.

    GOLD for your Mathilde.

    I love this.

China's Eileen Gu looks concerned as Johanne Killi of Norway puts down a big run. The Chinese athlete knows her silver may be under threat. You can see concern on her face but as Killi gets near her Gu is shouting and praising her.

She's put on a poker face there.

Killi gets 71.78. She won't medal. Maybe Gu knew all along.

"Is this schedule starting to take it's toll on Eileen Gu? Has she spread herself too thin between big air, half-pipe and slopestyle?

"She came out and said she wants three golds - that is putting so much pressure on yourself."

Gu is absolutely elated. A mark of 86.23 gets her into silver. Two to run.

I've been to Switzerland. It's expensive and peaceful.

Will they take to the streets and drink the place dry if Mathilde Gremaud hangs on?

Anastasia Tatalina of the Russian Olympic Committee punches the air as she crosses the line. A big, big run.

She learns she is in bronze medal position and looks a bit flat.

    THREE athletes left.

The mark of 86.56 by Switzerland's Mathilde Gremaud is what they're all hunting.

Kirsty Muir knows it - she said "that second jump" when she got to the bottom.

The one thing she will have is the collectors item, regardless of the result - being able to say she's laced two really nice runs at the Olympics.

The score is sent down... 69.21.

So Muir's best is 71.30 and that will not be enough for the podium.

  14. Postpublished at 02:42 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February 2022

Kirsty Muir is down safely. There was one tiny sit down on her second jump but the rest was neat. The judges will likely hit her for that.

Deary me. I want a medal more than I want Santa to be real. We've waited too long...

Katie Summerhayes really enjoyed that, she's put down two runs she's pleased with so that gave her the platform to really shoot for a best run.

It's so nice to see her celebrate with Mathilde Gremaud, though.

  20. Summerhayes down...published at 02:36 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February 2022

    Women's freeski slopestyle final

Katie Summerhayes with the run of her life to come.

Off she sets but it's early heartbreak as she's down and skidding through the snow. She skis to the bottom of the slope and embraces our leader Mathilde Gremaud.

The Summerhayes dream is over. Her best mark of 64.75 will not be enough for a medal...
